Hi Everyone,
I HS my two boys (6 and 4) and am excited to start delving into history. I feel like the Classical method for teaching history is going to fit the best for our family but I wanted to start earlier than the ancient period. To satisfy my oldest son's curiosity of where the earth came from and who were the first people we have decided to start with the big bang, followed by the first life on earth, the dinosaurs, early mammals and the evolution of humans. We also plan on incorporating mythic and religious stories about these origins and plan on encouraging them to develop their own stories. We are going to use Jennifer Morgan's three book series on this topic - Born with a Bang, From Lava to Life and Mammals who Morph.

Right now I am in the planning stages for the first section and was hoping somebody would have some ideas for some fun projects to do to emphasize the lesson. One idea I read somewhere a long time ago is to put some glitter in a balloon, blow it up as large as you can and then pop it to illustrate the big bang. Any other ideas? Any one else cover or plan to cover this topic?
