When did your crazy nesting start?

Thread Starter

I'm just 34 weeks and I've been nesting like crazy!

When did nesting start for you relative to when your LO's were born?

Anyone else nesting?

Seriously I feel like I had 20 cups of coffee and everything needs to be done right now!

With DS I didn't start like this until I was 39/40 weeks. So I'm wondering if sooner mean anything? or maybe I just have more to do.

32 weeks right now and DH and I went shopping for our birth supplies today and we are spending the weekend sorting out the baby stuff/clothes and cleaning house. I don't remember nesting with my daughter.

If you can count researching and shopping for weeks on end... I did most of my nesting before I was even 20 weeks.  I was never really into the whole cleaning thing at the end of my pregnancy.

I'm 25 weeks and I feel it coming on. I'm shopping for a new couch and tv, wanting to take Christmas decorations down, thinking about where to put baby clothes, etc. I also have plans to go through all the kids' toys, clothes and clean out the closets in the next few weeks. I was put on bedrest at 31 weeks last time and I'm hoping to avoid that this time but I'm trying to get things done early this time since I was totally blindsided last time and my house was nasty by the time the baby came. I'm looking forward to getting some things done here over the next few weeks!

I'm almost 34 weeks and I think I need to put Christmas away.  At one point last time I was cleaning the kitchen floor on my hands and knees with an old toothbrush, so I'm pretty sure I'll recognize it when it happens.

lol i clean the light fixtures when i get crazy nesty..... we'll see if that happens this time. I have been thinking i really need to think about my birth supplies here soon

I'm up right now because DH kicked me out of bed for keeping him up, LOL (he decided to put a movie in because he can't seem to sleep either). I'm getting crazy energy now, so I guess I must be nesting. I've gone through my "to do" list and now creating another one nut.gif. Been wide awake so early in the mornings and late to bed too. I'm hoping this won't be ongoing since I'm only closing in on 37 weeks and don't want to wear myself out before LO gets here.

I feel like I'm starting to get nesty (I'm 29w5d) but I wish it would kick in hardcore. I have SO MUCH to do! I finished making four huge drapery panels for our living room yesterday and it totally wrecked my back. I have more sewing to do today and I want to get a shelf hung in the babies room. We need to clean, clean, clean the whole house.

I told DH yesterday, "we have 7 weeks! everything must be done in 7 weeks!" Maybe that way we'll actually be done by the time baby comes later.

Here's to building our nests, ladies!

I would LOVE to nest! I will be 35 weeks on Tuesday and I have a ton to do but no energy to do it.  It has led to a lot of frustration on my part.

I wish! I didn't nest last time, and this time I'm just doing things that *need* to be done. I'm not going to be on my hands and knees cleaning the baseboards. I'd rather relax smile.gif I'd love to get the urge to whip everything into shape around here, though. I'm due in 4 days so I guess the nesting thing has passed me by again.

I've had it for several weeks but Christmas interfered with it wink1.gif Too much clutter and stuff around to clean properly. We had neighbors come over today to help us put all our Christmas decoration containers away in the attic (hubby is on crutches due to ankle surgery) and it was like I could breeeeathe again! MIL got me the most awesome little hand vac for Christmas and I've been hand-vaccing everything in sight. It felt awesome to get the dog hair tumbleweeds out of the corners and clean the stairs really well.

I do have to pace myself, I get into such a groove then all of a sudden I get reaaaally tired or my back starts hurting really bad so I have to take frequent breaks.

I didn't nest with either of my previous pregnancies. I basically had to force myself to do just about anything. This time seems very similar, if anything Im MORE tired this pregnancy.

I don't know what my problem is, but I'm just over 12 weeks and I've been in full blown nesting mode since...oh...about 12 weeks ago.

This past weekend, I went to get some soap out from under the kitchen sink and though "Oh that just looks terrible under there." and then spent the next hour emptying, scrubbing, and organizing it.  DH eventually saw me and asked if I was doing Spring cleaning.  When I told him no, that I was getting ready for July (edd), he was like "Are you kidding me?!"  ROTFLMAO.gifI've also cleaned out drawers and closets.  I don't quite understand why I feel like this, but hey, if my house is in order then I guess I'll be happy.
