Crazy Emotional

Thread Starter

I'm 25 weeks now, and at about 20 weeks, I started being extremely emotional and crying easily. Everything is so upsetting to me (movies, news, stories about sick children, comments about my pregnant body) and my normally patient DH is at his breaking point. We had a fight a few days ago, and he is doing a long "retreat" from me that is killing me. You probably know what I'm talking about: running off to the TV room, not engaging, not touching me. I just don't have any strength left and feel so alone.

How are you all dealing with the strong emotions during pregnancy?

so sorry that the hormones and emotions are getting to you. I'm normally a very emotional person and pregnancy just makes it worse. Heck Dh commented on it before we even got BFP that he thought i was pregnant becasue of the way I was acting. i didn't think i was being any different but I guess I was.

Now thankfully I have a very understanding hubby for the most part he really does try and be supportive when i'm going off the deepend.

I'd try and talk to him or at least find a friend you can talk to perferably one who has gone through this. Pregnancy is a very trying time for our bodies and our emotions. But do remember according to some men, they feel like their SO have been taken over by some monster when they are pregnant and they just don't know how to deal with it.

Wiht my husband I really try to tell him what I am needing of him. Simple things. Like " i'm feeling very upset about this I need you to do X" that way it is your emotions and you are giiving hima way to help you deal with the problem. Men tend to try and solve problems and with pregnany it's so out of their relm of anything. try and give him a break have a talk about what going on and be open and honest about how you are feeling. now he may not be open but at least you tried

he's just got to realize that it's not him...it's the hormones.

there are some books out there like a "man's guide to pregnancy" type thing. i got one for DH the first time around and the book basically poked fun of us but was spot on about all the weird things we might be doing. heck, reading it even made ME feel better.
