ValH - I don't think that will hurt your chances!  Rest & plenty of fluids!  Hope your sister gets good news about your nephew and her DH gets back on his feet.  I can't imagine how hard that must be. Things like that really make you think.

Hykue - haha Exactly!  And thank you for the story and thank you for the reminder.  We are all better for it.

Val - It sure sounds like your sister's having a hard time of it. How terrifying that must be for her and her husband (and pretty scary for you too). I hope they get a fast, happy answer (and a job, too!).

Boggles - I'm glad I can make you laugh. I'm a big proponent of laughing - it's better than crying!

Bel - no problem!

AFM - not much to add, feeling more positive today. Yay!

Thanks, boogles & bel, for the well-wishes for my sister and her family. We are praying for good test results, and something that can be easily treated.  Only time will tell.

Boogles - How long have you been here in the US, if you don't mind me asking?  DH has been here for a very long time, but there's still stuff that catches him by surprise sometimes... like the other day we were talking about tonsils, and he just assumed that all kids had their tonsils out at a certain age, because that's what they did in Egypt when he was growing up.  He was very surprised to find out I still had my tonsils.  It's just weird little stuff that pops up from time-to-time that reminds me that he's not from here.

Bel - How's the two-week-wait treating you?  Anything interesting going on?

Calycanth - I forgot to mention earlier, but I love the thread title this month!!

Taxlady, LivingSky, Boots, HDSM, meander, birdie, and all you other ladies, just wanted to say HI and that I'm praying for all of you!

Lots of baby dust to everyone!  dust.gif

AFM - Going to the doctor this afternoon.  I've gotten tired of only being able to eat soft food (on day three of soggy cereal) and having a low-grade fever.  I've been researching about if antibiotics interfere with getting pregnant, but can't really find anything.  Guess we'll see what the doc says.

Edit - Hykue, we must have been posting at the same time.  Thanks for your well-wishes for my sister, too!  It really has helped me put the whole TTC stress into perspective... I feel like what I'm going through now is nothing compared to what they have gone through in the past year, and may potentially go through in the coming years... so I should stop my complaining.   Glad you are feeling more positive!  It's amazing the difference a day can make.

ValH - nothing really to report.  Some mild cramping and weird twinges.  I know its just me thinking about it...too early for anything.  FF says I am 7 DPO, but I am thinking I O'd on Saturday (going on + OPK).  How are you feeling?  smile.gif  Hope Doc gave you something to make you feel better.

Hello to all the Ladies!!

I'm a little behind Val & Bel in our 2 ww!!

Thanks to all the advice from everyone, I only have a minute to post so I can't do too many individual posts.  grouphug.gif

I was just curious about the tampon thing, and again, it could have been a coincidence that I got pregnant that cycle.  I was just curious if anyone had ever heard anything like that.  I'm not going to ever try it again.  lol

Fertility friend seems to be a little behind in their ovulation estimates.  It said I would O on CD 13.  I got a positive OPK the late afternoon of CD14 (with a smiley).  Another positive OPK on CD15 (w smiley), then today another positive OPK on CD16 at 11:25am but then a negative at 4:25pm.

Should I start counting DPO from the day after I get my first positive OPK?

Val - Thoughts and prayers to your sissy!

Good luck to everyone!!            Sticky Baby Dust to All!!!      dust.gif

Bel - Nothing to report here either as far as 2ww symptoms.  Hopefully no symptoms will be a good sign for us!  My doctor did give me an antibiotic.  I've taken three so far, and actually do already feel better.  No more fever, thank goodness.

Shell - You should count the DPO based on your temp shift.  After you have three days of sustained higher temps, FF will give you crosshairs.  Based on your chart, it does look like you O'ed on the first day of the positive OPK, but I'd be interested to see what your future temps say, and how FF interprets it.  Just keep in mind that your chart may be a little off this month from switching thermometers (or are you using the same one... I can't remember).  I usually O after my OPKs go negative, but this cycle I may have O'ed on the day of the positive OPK.  Temps are really a better indicator of O... OPKs can predict it, but can't tell you for sure if you did.

AFM - Rough week.  My grandfather passed away yesterday afternoon.  He'd been sick for a long time (emphysema and congestive heart failure), but it still doesn't make it easy.  The worst part is seeing my dad cry, it just breaks my heart.

Shell - Its funny you asked that because I always assumed ovulation occurs the day your OPK turns negative.  ValH knows her stuff.  I had to look it up.  Here is a link that talked about it on FF.  http://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Positive-OPK-the-same-day-as-ovulation.html  Always learning something new.  wink1.gif

ValH - great!  fingersx.gif this will be our last Clomid cycle. You've taught me something else - so I guess I really am 7 DPO...  Really sorry to hear about your grandfather.  Loss of a family member is always difficult even when you have some time to prepare for it mentally.  hug.gif  Keeping you in my thoughts.

Hi folks ,sorry I haven't gotten back to this list sooner, but as Bianca mentioned I am now the blissed out and quite tired mom of twins!

This are doing really great anfter a very strange labor. Everyone is home and has been since day 4, no nicu time which is great, they were 36w0d so just squeaked by a cut off of being called real premies.

In the last few days we have all finally learned to breastfeed, so life changes in this house daily.

Everything is just amazing.

Baby dust to all of you.

Gosh Val, when it rains it pours.  I hope you're doing OK.  You and your family are very much in my thoughts. hug2.gif

Adorkable, congratulations!  The twins are just beautiful!

Have any of the ladies in the 2WW tested yet?  Just curious.

Sorry I've been MIA for the past couple of days.  I've been working long days and am still recovering from my bacterial ass-kicking, and now, to top it all off, I've got a head cold.  irked.gif

Last night I dreamt that I found copious amounts of EWBJ while checking my CM, which is funny because I never have it in real life.  I remember thinking (in the dream), "Oh, that's REALLY stretchy!  So this is what they mean by egg white!"  My temperature was up this morning, which is odd.  eyesroll.gif  My earliest O since I began charting was CD 15 - there's no way it happened yesterday, on CD 10, right?  I haven't even started my OPKs yet this cycle.

Besides, today is CD 11, which means it's that time...

When everything is just right

There's nothing good on TV
You haven't had your after work social sport team practice
So you are not too tired
Oh, boy, it's all love
You lean in and whisper something sexy like,
"I might go to bed. I've got work in the morning."
I know what you're trying to say baby.
You're trying to say "Aww, yeah. It's business time."

Aww, yeah.  Happy Sunday, ladies.

Nice Calycanth!  Maybe I'll sing that to DH next time he needs a little encouragement to come to bed biggrinbounce.gif  I hope you start feeling better soon.  It seems like lots of people where I live have been getting pretty sick lately.  Since I started taking prenatal vitamins (a year ago!!!) I've found I've hardly been sick at all (touch wood), but that's about the only upside eyesroll.gif  I'm at 14 DPO and tested yesterday, but BFN although I wasn't at all surprised (my test expired in October so I figured I may as well use it).  My temp dropped this morning too, so AF must be on her way.  I really hope the acupuncturist is going to be our answer.  I don't think you could O that early unless you'd been taking something to bring it forward?  Maybe you were just a little feverish from the head cold??  Hope the dream was a sign!

ValH - I'm sorry to hear about your Grandfather too.  Calycanth is right - when it rains, it really does pour for you.  I don't mind you asking how long I've been here at all.  It's been 8 years on and off (I was a snowboard instructor so would just come for the winter and have to go home for the summer), I've been here full time for 5 years and we've been married for nearly 3 years.  Mostly it's the language things I notice.  For instance I call the kitchen counter the bench, the trunk of the car the boot, the trash the rubbish, a wading pool (? think that's what it is here) a paddling pool..... there's lots of them!  Although I did go to a restaurant a couple of weeks ago and they had wrapped the pictures on the walls so that they looked like presents?!?!?!  Apparently it's pretty normal here to do that at Christmas?

Adorkable - congratulations on your twins!!!  I think you were on here and had just become pregnant when I first started lurking, so that makes me hopeful for all of us.  Thanks for the baby dust!

I will have to catch up and figure out where I left off..

But I just came on to say HI.. I MISSED YOU GUYS!! kid.gif  I'm sending dust.gifbecause I'm ready for BFP on this thread!! I made wishes goodvibes.gif for every one of you on New Year's ya' know?  If I don't see a BFP I'm going to have to fly back to Paris and give that Arc d'Triomphe a piece of my mind. Cuss.gif

Caly.. did you make that up?  Aww YEAH! blueman.gif

Now I am going to figure out which side of jet lag I am on and I'll tune in again tomorrow.  sleepytime.gif

Welcome back, Taxlady!  Glad you made it home safely!  No, the lyrics are from the song "Business Time" by Flight of the Conchords.  They're a musical comedy duo from New Zealand.  They had a great show that ran on HBO for a couple of seasons.  If you want a good laugh, you can hear the song/watch the video for "Business Time" here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqZcYPEszN8  Ugh, jet lag is the worst - hope you adjust quickly!

Boggles - I'm not sure it's normal for restaurants to wrap up their pictures at Christmastime.  I don't think I've ever seen that, lol!  Sorry about the BFN, even if it was expected.  hug.gif  I'm very curious to hear how the acupuncture works, so do keep us posted!

My temp was back down this morning, thank goodness!

Thanks to Bel, Calycanth, and boogles for the kind words and thoughts about my grandfather.

Bel – Any 2WW symptoms to report on your end?  I’ve got nothing, not even sore boobs.  Oh, well.

Adorkable – Thank you for coming by to update us!  Congrats on the twins, they are beautiful!!!

Calycanth – Glad your temp went back down this morning and you didn’t O much sooner than expected.  Hope your head cold goes away – those suck!

Boogles – Sorry about the temp drop and BFN.  As for the Christmas presents on the walls, I don’t think that’s normal, not in this part of the country, anyway!

Welcome back, Taxlady!

AFM – 8dpo, nothing to report.  My fever still comes and goes, so it seems the antibiotic isn’t doing too much good.  But, I can eat solid food again, so maybe it did help.  Who knows.  Either way, pretty sure this cycle will be a bust, with being so sick and stressed.  Oh, but on a positive note, I made it through hours and hours of family members asking me when I’m going to have a baby, and I didn’t even cry or yell at anyone.

Hola, Chicas!!

Val- So sorry to hear about your loss.  I agree, seeing my Dad cry absolutely breaks me.

Also, thanks for all your o & temp info.  It helps a lot.  I see all the cross hairs that fertility friend did, but I noticed they also moved my cover line up to 98.0, so now I'm worried that it will be much easier for my temp to dip below that.  greensad.gif        Congrats on keeping it cool with the fam!

Bel- Thanks for that link!!  I love that we all learn from each other!     grouphug.gif

Tax Lady - So glad you're back!  Your post made me smile!  Thanks again for your foreign wishes for all of us!!

Boggles-  It's so funny, because wrapping pictures like Christmas presents seems very normal to me!  lol  I was considering doing it in the guest bathroom and hallway (but was too lazy. I've actually never done it).  My Aunt always does it and I see it in lots of houses!  Maybe it's just my crazy neck of the woods (southern calif)!  wild.gif       Just today I was looking at pregnancy charts in the chart gallery of FF and noticed many with acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine (and immediately thought of you)!  It looks really promising!  Good Luck!  fingersx.gif

Caly - Couldn't that be one of two patches of fertile mucous you might have in the month?  I remember it always says that underneath my analysis on the FF iphone app.  What an interesting dream!

Speaking of dreams, isn't it weird how many women have dreams that they are pregnant, wake up, take a test, and it's positive?!?  Maybe it's just because I used to desperately search sites for different dpo symptoms that turned into a positive pregnancies and many of them had the same story: a dream that they were prego.  When I was prego last summer, I only had one dream (that I remember) acknowledging that I was pregnant.  In it I told someone that "I'm pregnant now, I can't go jumping around" because the person wanted me to jump up on something.  Anyway, how many of you have had dreams of pregnancy or anything related?  You'd think that with this on our minds every waking second, that we would constantly be dreaming about it, but I have not.  I am someone who dreams pretty frequently.  I try to write them down when I remember them and there are enough details to make some sort of sense.

sleeping.gif  The only recent dream that is "sort of" pregnancy related:

***A quick back story so it makes sense.  Growing up, I was an only child at my mom's house and then had my half siblings at my dads house.  Maybe due to the fact that I was alone a lot on trips and such, I always wished that one day I would have twins.  I have a childhood diary that I started in 2nd or 3rd grade.  In it I have the names I wrote down for my boy/girl twins!  There are five sets of names for the fraternal twins (one of the names for a girl was Teale! lol).  Once I was an adult, I realized how much hard work twins would be & thought how sweet and uninformed I was as a little kid to wish that so hard.  Once I started genealogy with my first marriage, I also found out that my great grandma had a brother/sister that were twins...

My Dream, morning of 12/1/10   I was somewhere in a room with several people in a semi circle (maybe 5 people).  A man was standing directly in front of me and telling me that "there are twins available but they're not the type you thought that they were twin girls and not boy/girl."  I told him that "it's ok, because lately I had that thought popping in my head about twin girls.  I told him that I had actually started re-considering my pre chosen girl names because I'd heard that when you have twins, that there has to be a cadence to the two names because you'll be yelling their names together a lot!"   When I woke up, I wrote all this down.  I was hoping it meant I was pregnant, but I got my BFN that month on 12/22.

I'd love to hear your dreams!     sleepytime.gif

As Always,     dust.gif

Oh ValH - I'm really sorry about you loosing your grandfather.  hug2.gif I'm also sorry you had to also field the dreaded "when are you going to have a baby" forum.  I'm interested in how you answered those questions.  At Christmas I finally told my cousin who asked me yet again, "I'm going to need a lot of help - so I'll let you know when it happens".  This was right after she told me she's ready for a fourth while holding her five month old. I know when people ask, they are actually trying to be supportive because I hope they think I would be a good mom. headscratch.gif

What's up with your fever?  How long have you been on antibiotics?  I think that a good dose of antibiotics does everyone good once in a while, I hope they clear you up soon.  I guess that's why you have that huge temp spike on your chart?  Feel better!!  And don't worry about feeling uninterested this month, I think that it sometimes helps to sort of let the TTC go once in a while.  They always say - if you don't think about it it will happen.. (I JUST LOVE THAT ONE) (not).

P.S. - no symptoms and no spotting?  I hope this is good news!!

SO I read through all the posts - so much has passed and I am so glad we have a few new members.  I can't really catch up with all of it since some of it is old new and has passed.

Anyhow, I had a few interesting dreams while I was away.  One included a friendly tiger and her baby.  I looked up the meaning of Tiger in a dream and it has to do with my career ambition. Another included a baby I was feeding - but the food was too hot.  The baby was Asian, so I'm not sure it was ours. winky.gif But she was cute! I don't know what it means.  I'm currently in the TWW, slightly sore bbs.  Jetlag is a little hard, yesterday at work I just pushed on.  Went to bed at 9 and woke up every 2.5 hours on the dot.  So I'm just going with it.

Does anyone read their horoscope?  Mine from Susan Miller's Astrologyzone is very promising this month and actually mentions having a baby.  thumb.gif

Caly - going to watch the youtube video.. can't wait.

Shell - Thanks for the kind words.  I think it's so cool that you write down your dreams... I've always meant to do that, but I never do.  The only dream I remember having related to TTC recently was when I dreamed I got a BFP at 10dpo.  That was months ago, so obviously it didn't come true for me.

Taxlady - Welcome back!  We missed you!!  Thanks for your kind words, too.  Whenever my family would ask me about having a baby, I would just be a little evasive with answers like "eventually" and "we'll see."  One of my aunts did corner me and ask if we were going to try in the near future or far future.  I told her we're hoping for near future, and she seemed satisfied with that answer.  I was just proud I didn't cry, that had been my general reaction in months prior.  I guess maybe it's the apathy kicking in.  As for the fever, not sure what was going on.  I had a fever off and on all day on Sunday, but it's been gone since then.  That was the big temp spike that was on my chart, but I discarded the temp since it was a fever - made my chart look a little more normal, but not much.  I do feel a lot better though, so I feel that the antibiotics are finally starting to work.  I actually managed to cook and clean up a little yesterday without getting so exhausted I couldn't move.  Big improvement.   Anyway, whenever you get over your jet lag, we'd love to hear all about your trip!!

AFM - 9dpo (according to FF... could be 8dpo, but I'm deferring to FF on this one because I like being 9 better than 8).  Still NO symptoms.  And, NO spotting!   It usually starts by 10dpo at the latest, so if I make it a few more days, I'll be thrilled.  I'm still not expecting a BFP this month with all the stress and illness, but it would be good if the Clomid at least fixes my post-O spotting.

Val, so sorry to hear about your grandfather. :(

Taxlady--welcome back!

Adorkable--love the user name and love those twins! Congratulations!

Caly--sure hope you get to feeling better!!

Shell--I've had some crazy pregnancy dreams and those were before we'd even decided to start trying. That's how I knew I was ready. The one I remember most vividly happened after we watched Walking Dead on AMC so in the dream, I was giving birth during Zombiegeddon. Lovely, eh? Luckily there weren't any zombies IN the dream, but I remember that all my friends were running through this empty hospital to find me and DH and help us give birth so we could get out of there. The good thing was that in the dream, the birth itself was completely painless. That's how you know it's a dream! LOL I've had a few others and they always feel so real. The emotions are so strong that I feel pregnant even after I've woken up. I think it'd be amazing to feel that, then go test to find out I really was! Well...as long as the zombies were just a dream. :)

AFM--I'm still don't think I've O'd. My temps are all over the place, I got a positive OPK yesterday (although it was questionable) and my CM seemed stretchiest yesterday. I just need to be patient and hope it all makes sense soon.

Adorkable - beautiful!  Congratulations!

Calycanth - No testing here.  Funny dream - hope you get that EWBJ with your OPK this month!  Love the song. smile.gif  DH loves them.  They are hilarious!  Hope you are feeling better.

Taxlady - nice to hear from you!  wave.gif

ValH - no real obvious SS.  Tender nipples, but I get that after my body has O'd or thought it O'd before  af.gif so I can't get excited.  hug.gif for having to deal with your grandfathers passing and the "so...when are you and ______ (insert DH name there) going to have a baby?"  Ugh...one reason family get togethers  are great, but in my head I know its going to be asked.  Props to you for keeping a level head!  (And I'm glad you can eat solid food now!  Hopefully its just taking a little bit for antibiotic to work...)

Shell - I had a weird preg dream last month that I could see the head and ear of the baby when looking down at my belly.  So weird...it was like there was no fluid and my skin was paper thin.  Not sure what that meant.  I was not even in the running for a BFP.  I think it was because of the temping, plus POAS, etc.  That would be cool though.  How cute!  (about your dream)

AFM - at this point I don't know what DPO I am. FF keeps moving my O date back and forth so I will just go with an average and say I am 10 DPO today.  DH and I got into a HUGE argument last night.  A friend was in from out of town and we went out to dinner.  I know with the possibility of me being pregnant I was not going to have cocktails or anything and I told him that. (He heard I was not going to drink any alcoholic beverages...)  I ended up having one glass of red wine and didn't think much of it. So when we were in the car and my friend drunk dialed my house number instead of my cell phone he heard her drunk so he was instantaneously defensive and hearing I had a glass of wine took him over the edge and we hopmad.gif.  I did think twice about it but nursed the glass the time we were there so while she had an entire bottle and a cocktail I had that one glass.  Now that we've talked it out I feel guilty and so does he...we both learned from that.  This brings up the question - what are your thoughts on drinking during the 2ww?  I do not drink everyday...only socially at times.  What is the 2WW rule...

Feeling gloomy.gif and guilty.  I would never ever do anything to hurt a baby...or my chances.

Femmeknitzi – Thanks for your condolences!   I do agree that you haven’t O’ed yet, but it looks like you’re still having plenty of EWBJ, so that’s good!  Good luck at catching that egg!

Bel – Thanks you for your condolences, also.  I think I agree with FF for your O date, based on the temps available.  It may be possible that you O’ed one day later, but that temps missing so no way of knowing.  Either way, I’d say 10dpo is a safe guess.  Sorry to hear about the argument with DH, but glad y’all made up.

As for the drinking, I used to drink for the first week of the 2ww because my rationale was that implantation hasn’t occurred yet, so what can it hurt.  However, now that it’s taken SOOOO long to get pregnant, I’ve quit drinking all together in the 2ww.  It’s more DH’s decision than mine – I wouldn’t mind having a beer every now and then, but it makes him feel better if I don’t drink at all, so I don’t.  He won’t even let me drink after I get a positive OPK, even if I’m not O-ing for a few days.  I think he just wants a baby so bad, he doesn’t want to do anything that could risk it, and I respect that.   With all of that being said, Bel, I surely don’t think one glass of red wine would hurt anything – a lot of doctors now allow pregnant ladies to have one glass of red wine.  Don’t think I could do that while knowingly pregnant, but I’ve known women that did and had perfectly normal babies.

OMG!!!   so mad!! I was about to hit submit (after typing and thinking about it for a half hour) and the stupid icon clicked on the mothering magazine subscription instead and erased everything I wrote!!!   DANNGGGGGGGG  FIREdevil.gif (how mad I was for 10 seconds) lol

Since I was previously writing there have been a few more posts, so I'll try to rewrite what I had previously.    I wondered who AFM was and why you guys were always answering questions from them even though I didn't see their posts. I briefly thought why does "she" pm them and they have to respond to her on the thread?  LOL  I finally think that it has something to do with impending AF?  Or our current status?  ha ha what a spaz I am!  ha ha

AFM?  bigeyes.gif   I am currently 6dpo.  My bb's are very sore, but they were really sore last month (had to put a heating pad on them), so I'm not getting my hopes up.  One thing that has helped me this month is charting and entering my slight symptoms into FF.  Then I don't obsess about checking different websites for dpo symptoms that match mine where the women got BFP's.  I just feel a little calmer about it this month, which is always good, right?!    tea6.gif

Taxlady - Isn't it funny how symbols are different for everyone?  My chinese sign (astrology) is Tiger, so that is the first thing I thought of.  How exciting to see the baby news in your scope!!  read.gif

The details you had in your dream about the food being too hot and her beautiful face....  awwwwwwww      Have you ever been anywhere in Asia?  Did you say you had the dream when you were over there (bordering Asia - continent wise)?   Really interesting!  I love it!

Val - Wow!  Again specific details!  positive at 10 dpo.  I have had dreams through out my lifetime that come true word for word.  It wouldn't necessarily happen the next day or week, but it was always current enough that I remembered that "I had a dream about this exact situation and it played out like this word for word".  Again, this is throughout my lifetime, so it's not like it happens every month....  So, you never know, your positive at 10 dpo could be coming up!!   fingersx.gif

Femmeknitzi

- Geez!! That is so funny!  At least you know you can handle any birthing conditions, right (even Zombie strone areas)!  Did you see the baby after delivery?  You've had many more pregnancy dreams?  Do you remember any of them?  I love hearing them!    thumb.gif

I love hearing your baby and/or prego dreams!!  It's fascinating to me!  Again, because this wish is so strong for us, I can't believe I don't dream about it every night!  I was thinking of keeping track of my pregnancy/ baby related dreams. I would have pre and post pregnancy dreams that my future kids could read.  I think that we'd all get a kick out of it!

I think if you have enough details or even if you don't, that it is nice to keep track of your dreams.  Just pick up a spiral notebook at the dollar store.  Actually, it's easier if you get a book with lots of pages that will last many years.  I have so many dreams written down in different places or on scraps of paper in zip lock bags.  I need to consolidate them.  Sometimes when I read dreams from like 8 years ago, they crack me up (unless it was a crappy dream  greensad.gif).         Also, my cats are in my dreams a lot (mostly my 15 yr old cat).  flowerkitty.gif
