My sweet 2yo is on day 6 of a cold with eye discharge.  He has the phlegm-y cough and swollen eyes with goop.  My family has all been trading and battling colds of various forms since Halloween.  The 2yo has a pretty good immune system and usually fights these things pretty fast.  We have been traveling as well, so that hasn't helped the situation, plus he had *just* gotten over the last cold.

I had not been treating this cold, just waiting for it to go its natural course.  Today my mom came to me almost crying and saying that I "needed to do something."  I know she means take him to the doctor and get antibiotics and cold medicine.  And my husband had been wanting to get Mucinex, which I heard can actually *cause* pink-eye-like-symptoms.  Thankfully he didn't get any, but I am definitely feeling the heat to *do something* about his cold.  So I have started giving him colloidal silver and putting chamomile tea bags on his eyes.  Unfortunately I do not have any breast milk, so I can't go that route.  I am thinking about trying shredded potato on his eyes too and, of course, warm washcloths.

Mostly I am just posting this to see what you think about this and if you would like to give any other ideas, feel free to share them.
