I read someone else's post titled "Measuing Large.."  I had my 20 week scan on 12/29 and my baby girl weighed 12 oz.  I thought perhaps that was a little large..but tech said that was good.  Can everyone post weights of their little peanut?  Thanks.

15 oz at 20 weeks 2 days (and was measuring closer to 20 weeks 6 days, but U/S has a margin of error, right? at some point in the 3rd tri the weight can be +/- 1lb?)

I have no idea what mine weighed at 20 weeks. I haven't had an apt since 15 weeks and my last scan was at 12 weeks. I have both an apt and scan this Wed, so I'll drop in and let you know what it's at for 22 weeks, if they tell me.

Due date crashing! Ultrasound weight estimates are notoriously inaccurate, and inaccuracy grows with gestational age.  This is why many women are told by docs *gasp* your baby is huge, you need a c-section, and they end up with a normal 8lb baby.  Or so I've been told ;)

Yup but they're still fun if you dont put too much weight on them (no pun intended).

I like to see how right and wrong they were when the baby is finally born.  I had one friend who had an estimated 4300gr baby and had one who weighted that much few days later. Another friend was told that her baby was about 3600gr at the day of the delivery and then she went and delivered a 4500gr boy.

i agree... that almost happened to my cousin.  she was told her dd was measuring large so they did many US toward the end to follow.  they estimated that if she went to her due date, the baby would be 10lbs or something like that so they were going to schedule a c/s a week or two before her due date.  the LAST US they did before they scheduled the surgery suddenly measured her at 6lbs so they decided to let her go to her due date.  her dd was born right around the due date and only weighed 7lbs 2oz... so much for the giant baby several US predicted!

that being said,  i don't put much weight in what the US says but i think it's fun to compare so i'll let you know next week!  we'll see who's baby's are actually the biggest in a few months :)

Well, so far my baby is the smallest and I am starting to get a complex biglaugh.gif

LOL- Don't worry, mama- I was thinking the same about mine being the biggest.  Although as my other two were 8 and 8lbs 4, I'm thinking this little one probably won't end up being the biggest in our DDC when we really find out in a few months;)

very true.I was told with my first that she would be 8 lbs. and she wound up being 10.6.
