KristinaMarie - Ughhh!!!!!!!! Crap, I thought I had it all figured out and now I'm second guessing if I should try another round of the drug again.
The first round I did all vaginally (400mcg x 4 rounds every 4 hrs) b/c the high risk dr that I saw said that it would be absorbed fastest that way. Then the second round (400mcg x 4 more rounds) I did, my OBGYN told me to maybe try and take it orally so I did the first 2 doses orally and I didn't even have the cramps or contractions I had with it the first time vaginally, so then I switched it up to doing it vaginally again and the only thing I got from all of it was a headache and the runs all day. My OBGYN did talk to another high risk dr yesterday and he told her I could do a 3rd round, but to let the pills dissolve under my tongue which was the first time I had heard that and then you said the same thing. I don't know... it's so frustrating. With our first pregnancy I couldn't carry past 22.5wks and now with this one it just doesn't seem to want to come out. I just don't get it!! Sorry for my venting.. I'll step off my soap box here. Okay, questions for you.... (hope you don't mind)... 1. Didn't it taste awful? 2. Could you chase it with something after they dissolved like food or drink? 3. Did it give you stomach issues like I had in the past with taking it orally? Decisions, Decisions!!!!?????
Thanks again for the info. Take care!!

blueyezz4- I am so sorry that you are going through this. Isn't it funny how our bodies don't seem to know what to do EVER.
To answer your questions, yes it tasted awful---like a metallic/bleach flavored chalk. It does dissolve within 2 minutes, and you can drink whatever after, at least I did, just make sure it isn't fizzy like soda, cause it make it 100x more fizzy with the meds. (Imagine alka seltzer). I did have loose stools, but nothing that was horrid, and no stomach upset.
I took 800mcg the 2nd time and it worked within 2 hrs. I would be cautious about taking 400x4 under the tongue all at once. Maybe your OB will let you take 800, and repeat in 4 hrs if nothing has happened. I so hope this part of the journey is over soon for you.
. Oh yea, and buy the biggest pads you can, and see if the Drs office will give you the blue lap pads to put on the couch, bed, etc. I experienced lots of sudden gushes with the cytotec.

sarahcecile - sending you so much babydust!!!
blue - so sorry you're still going through this. Your poor body. Not to mention, your poor heart. hugs.
Sarahcecile - Just checking in on you to see how everything went today! Been thinking of you all day and hoping those embies are getting cozy as we speak!!!!
Keria - Good to see you and I can understand wanting to wait a bit.
to you!!! Feel free to keep lurking and if you ever want me to add you to the list just let me know. Thanks for your kind words.
KristinaMarie - Thanks for all that information. Sounds awful!!!! Thankfully, I think things are starting. I actually took a herbal mixture today and I think that is what helped get things moving. Hopefully everything will keep coming and I won't have anything left. I have to see my OBGYN again next Monday and hopefully she will order another U/S just to check at some point in time. Thanks again.
Anyone starting their stimming soon? I feel like things are kinda moving slow this month for all of us, maybe it is just me.
to everyone!!!!

Hello all! I was wondering if it's okay if I join you guys group? I am currently going through a FET. The husband and I just completed a ivf in Nov of '10, which resulted in a chemical pregnancy. We are now in the process of completing a FET. I am taking BCP's right now, I will be taking my last BCP on 01-13-11 and starting ESTRACE. I believe I will be doing a natural tranfer due to the fact that the only injectables I will be taking is my PIO after the transfer. If anyone knows anything about this please feel free to let me know. I will be going fo my sono on 01-31-11 to check my lining and my transfer is scheduled on 2-04-11 and my pregnancy test on 02-14-11. I am really praying that this all works out for all of us! The husband is perfect but I have blocked tubes. I also wanted to add that every since I had the chemical it keeps me thinking that maybe I need to change something within myself (lose weight, work out, eat healthier) I just don't know but I can't relax and just let it work?!?! Has any one else felt like this?
Sweetdynasty - Welcome!!!!!
So sorry to hear about your chemical! Fingers crossed for you with your FET! I can't believe you have your dates for both FET and your test date already!! Wow!!! I just realized your test date is on Valentines day! How cool is that!!! I've added you to the list. Just let me know if your dates change at all.
I did PIO shots with our first IVF this past Nov. If you look on the Fall IVF thread you might find more talk about it, but i'll tell you that I would ice my butt with the frozen ice pack covered in a paper towel for like at least 10mins before the shot. When DH would just jab it in there i wouldn't even feel it really. The first couple wks of the shots were fine, but then it seemed after I found out I had a BFP they started to hurt after the shot and the next day I felt like bruises and little lumps that were sore. They told me not to do them before you go to bed but at another time where you will actually be using those muscle is suppose to help with soreness. I had my DH practice on an orange to learn how to do it and there is a video to watch online if you don't know about just yell and i'll try to find the link for you. Did you use something else for progesterone with your IVF in Nov? I hear you about having the fear... we got a BFP and now are having a miscarriage so I have a fear that it could all happen again. I'm just trying to stay relaxed and not think about it. I really believe that stress is the worst thing for infertility and think it might be a huge part in our issues. Good luck to you and welcome again!!! Keep us posted!!

Hey Blueyezz4! I am so so sorry to hear about your miscarriage
I am sending hugs your way!! I did do the PIO in my fresh cycle. I was wondering if anyone could tell me more about a natural FET, and if my protocal sounded like it was natural, or has any one done a FET without using injectable and had it work? Sorry I was unclear! I also thought it was weird that I had my entire calender with my transfer date and test date!! I was truely excited though because I knew exactly what dates to take off of work. With my fresh it was all play it by ear or should I say ultrsound results. This time I only have to go in for a ultrasound 1 time. ![]()

Hey Blueyezz--I'm so glad that things have started up for you finally (horrible thing to be "glad" about, but you know what I mean). I hope everything goes smoothly and is over quickly so that you can heal up and move on. Big BIG hugs to you!
(for those of you who don't know me, I'm sorry for barging in here, I stalked my sister in the fall thread a lot and got attached to a couple of the ladies who are trying again, blue among them! I want to stick around until they get their sticky babies.)

right back at you Carlyle!!! How sweet of you to stop by! Like i said in the first page of the thread, "all stalkers are welcome"... I also love it when stalkers speak up, that makes it even more fun. I kinda feel like I have been left behind from the party (which I'm sure a few others on here do too, since thankfully there were so many BFP's on the Fall Thread and I'm hoping all of us on this Winter thread will have to same good luck), so it is good to see another familiar name out there. Hope you and the little ones are doing well. I occasionally stalk Tear just to keep an eye on her and the others from Fall as well. Take care and Thanks again!

I asked yesterday, and yea, it is to make sure you don't O before you stim, and to get more follies. I thought I had to do a whole month of them, but it is only two weeks.

I guess it will be a few more weeks for me, after the birth control pills.

Welcome! I am also somebody who can't relax. I also can't stop onsessing. I spend WAY too much time online at work reading about IVF, thinking about IVF, etc, now that we are doing it. Before I was obsessing aboout getting pregnant, now it is IVF.
AFM - had a wonderful doc appointment yesterday. IVF is covered! 100%! I am not waiting for AF, and then I have to call for baselines and birth control pills. My appointment really helped put some of my anxieties to rest, but I am still nervious and excited.
rcr - that is sooooooooooooooooo AWESOME that your IVF will be covered!!! What a blessing for you and DH!!!
I'm starting to think I need to move to MA b/c I think that is one of the states that has mandated Infertility coverage. Glad you also got some of your other questions answered as well about the BCP's. Keep us posted when you start.

Thanks. I could not sleep again last night because I have so much anxiety over this. The IVF process seems daunting.
I got AF this morning at 2 am. YAY. I haven't been happy to see AF since after my last M/C. I am calling the RE this morning to schedule baselines and that test that is like the HSG but starts with an "s" (forgot the name of it).
How are things with you? Is the M/C over?

I know--it was so great that so many people got their BFP's, but I'm sure it made it harder on the few of you that are in for another cycle. And after watching just a few days of the process while my sister was here over Thanksgiving, I appreciate what that means even more. So I've been thinking of you and Keria a bunch. Hoping that your next cycle is it for you both!

A Sonohystergram.... is that it or something like that??? I had one before our IVF and it was pretty simple... i think it is just to look at your uterus to make sure everything checks out okay. Good luck and try to relax! It will all work out as planned and stress will only make things harder. I know it is easier said than done. Thinking of you!!
M/C over??? Who knows.... Now i'm just bleeding kinda like my normal period. Only had to use one pad for the whole M/C so i'm hoping all is out. Had another blood draw (hcg) this morning so we will see what she says about that. I'm hoping she will call me either tonight or tomorrow with the results and then I see her again on Monday morning. Hoping she will send me for an U/S to make sure all is gone... do they normally do that or no? I know my RE said i would need one done before we try to do a FET to make sure everything was out of there. That's about all I know.

yea, that's it. I had an hsg done, so I am not really afraid of the stonohystergram. It is supposed to be less crampy. I scheduled it for next Thursday, and my baselines are tomorrow morning.
I had to have a bunch of U/Ss with my M/c. The first few were because I kept holding out hope for a baby (blighted ovum). My story was that I started bleeding like a normal period, then they found the blighted ovum and everybody thought I was m/cing, but then the bleeding stopped, and the sac was still inside me. I waited another three weeks or so and it never started, and then I had the D&C. Altogether it lasted about 6 weeks from when I started bleeding until when I had the D&C, maybe a little more. It was horrible. When I got AF back after the D&C, I was scheduled to do Femera/iui, but my betas were still not back to zero, and that was 35 days after the D&C, so the cycle was canceled.
I am not sure if they do an u/s with a natural m/c, since I had a D&C. I wouldn't trust just blood work though, since my betas were still elevated more than a month after the D&C.
Okay ladies!!! Here is something I thought might be kinda fun to get to know one another a little better. Feel free to answer all or just some of the questions, whatever you want. I kinda stole it from another forum and just edited to fit our Winter IVF thread. Just copy and paste it into your reply and put your own answer in after the questions.
Hope you all join in.... even you stalkers can answer so we can get to know you a little better too - just let us know you are a stalker after your name!!!!
