Misgav Ladach and vbac afterwards

Hi ,

as some of you know , I had an unnecessary cesarean 8 months ago  , that has caused me a lot of emotional pain , so next time , we are definitely going for vba3c .

My question , this new c/s cut was made about 2-3 cm higher than the old (13 and 12 year old scar) and this time , they used some of the Misgav Ladach method .

Have any of you had something like that as well and what were your experiences with the next pregnancy and delivery ?

Did that make it easier , harder or was there no noticeable difference ?

Do any of you have a doctor´s or midwife´s input on that as well , like how long to wait for the next pregnancy and so on ?

I would appreciate every info I can get , since this time I want to make sure , that I do everything on my part , that I don´t have to get cut open again .

I have never heared of this style of incision, until your post.

I did google it what I read suggests it avoids the bladder and any scar tissue caused by the prior incisions. JMO that is a smart approach. I think you might talk to a professional about what your options are and the time to try to conceive. Hugs making a decision like this is not easy nor it it without road bumps along the way.

The biggest problem with that is , that I am really trying to avoid another c/s , and when I asked the doctor at my 6-week check-up , he said I can get pregnant after 6 months .

Which is true , but my chances for another c/s are a lot greater then .

And that´s exactly what I am trying to avoid .

But doctors in Finland are not very supportive about the whole idea of vbac anyway and I haven´t been to a new doctor where I live now (in Sweden) . They are supportive , but I still want o make sure that I do everything on my part to have the best possible chance at succeeding .

And the hospital in my (German) hometown told me , when I asked , that they can´t really say , it different from case to case . They are ALWAYS willing to try , they are actually the only hospital in Germany I know , that are trying to talk women INTO vbac , even after 5 or 6 c/s (seriously , I have a friend , they worked on until she consented to trying after 4 c/s and it was a success) .

But they didn´t tell me about the time limit , so I am still in the open about that . And wouldn´t I be considered like a vbac , not vbamc , since I had no problem at all with my old scars ? Somebody asked me that and I am wondering the same thing ?

Sorry guys , I just want to improve my chances as much as humanly possible , so even if I end up having another one , it won´t be anything I did

I believe here in the US the rule of thumb is 18 months between conceptions (?). My opinion is this varies greatly by professional.

That is very RARE.

Very good question, I would ask a health care professional. I would be interested to know what they say.

I support and encourage your efforts.
