Need ideas to use with church group about goals, etc.

Hi, my turn to lead our mother's group at church.  I would like to reflect on goals, etc that we may have for the new year.  We always include a spiritual component (this can be a thoughtful passage, article, bible verse, or whatever) to share.  So, with the new year and people making resolutions--I want to find something about goals (making them, keeping them).  Any ideas?
