Anyone make their own pet food?

Wondering if anyone makes their own food for cats or dogs. What's your recipe? How long does it take? How long does a batch last and how/where do you store it? What does it cost you to make?

To do a cooked homemade diet you have to be careful and make sure you get all the correct supplements added.  It is doable,  but can be a bit time consuming.

RAW is much easier, and honestly except for a very few rare cases,  healthier.

My dogs eat an exclusively raw diet, and it's sooo easy. I would highly recommend looking into raw before actually preparing anything.

My puppy is too and it is very easy. He is positively thriving.

Our dogs are healthiest when they're on a raw diet. Clean teeth, brilliant coats, lots of energy, and they were lean lean lean. We followed the BARF diet (bones and raw food) and added Solid Gold supplements to their veggie/yogurt/egg mash, just to be on the safe side.

It is time consuming though, as everything has to be 'prepared' fresh, which is why they are on a high quality limited ingredient kibble now. Between school, a new (ish) baby, and wedding stuff, there's just no time. Someday . . . .

Also, BARF is only really cost effective if you can buy in bulk and deep freeze your offal and meaty bits. When we were doing it (pre baby!) I was at the store twice a week, we had no place to store large quantities. Yup, that was me, the crazy lady buying aaaallllllll the turkey necks and chicken livers in the store. Strange looks, let me tell ya. FYI cashier lady, I may not speak Spanish, but I know what 'loco' means, thankyouverymuch.
