Itchy underarms??

Ok, please tell me I'm not the only one scratching like a monkey ladies!

About to enter the third tri, and this started like 2 weeks ago. The only thing I can think of is I've developed an allergy to my deodorant? I tried baking soda and lemon this morning like an idiot, and it burned like hell. Then I tried some calamine lotion, and it too burned like hell. I'm thinking about ordering some from Lush, since I simply can't go without deodorant. Trust me, it's NOT an option!! I just want to make sure it's an allergy and not a yeast infection- any easy way to tell?

aww... I hope you get some relief soon, itchy rash in the underarms is just horrible! I know, because when I eat a "no-no" that I'm allergic to it's the first place the eczema shows up. Even though it's from a food allergy I still have to lay off the DO until it clears up. For the most part I use thai deodorant rock (salt) but that really irritates it during a flare up. Tom's makes a liquid crystal in a roll on that I like OK, it doesn't have quite the amazing odor prevention properties as the solid salt but doesn't irritate me at all, and I still think it works better than most other deodorants I've tried.

If you can at all, I'd try not to apply anything to help with the irritation. I'm not quite sure how to distinguish between an allergic rash and a yeast rash, a way to figure out would be to try and go without using anything until it clears and see if the suspected DO irritates it again. Or maybe a derm/dr would be able to tell? good luck and feel better

Try rubbing some coconut oil on your underarms after the shower.  Then dust with half baking soda, half arrowroot powder.  If it is yeast, the coconut oil will help with that, and the baking soda/arrowroot powder will help control the lady stank orngbiggrin.gif  You can also add a drop of lavender or tea tree oil to help control germs.

I've never heard of lemon juice, but OWIE!
