For you hospital birthers - marking your child with your preferences - Page 3

The first thing I thought of when I read the post title about marking was the idea of writing in marker on around a babe's penis " NO CIRC".  biggrinbounce.gif

My son's bassinet card had no bath, no hep, no circ. I'm sure it depends on the hospital though but he never left our sight and the nurses usually said, we're going to do this now, etc, and we could remind them, no, we do not wish to do that etc.

BUT, I see no problem with some sort of signage or shirt. Whatever puts you at ease.

I talked with one of the midwives and she said she thinks most baby boys ARE circ'd, so I know I definitely need to be aware. I am going to make some big honkin' stickers and put them over the tabs on his diapers. And a sign for the bassinet.

I just want to say that both of my boys were born in military hospitals (one in NC and one in SC) and nobody pressured me to circ. It might be different in a teaching hospital, but the military in general doesn't like to spend money and time on medical procedures that aren't necessary.
