what do you do for supplemental calcium?  my ds will not take any calcium supplements and I have tried many.  I do use bioplasma daily and bone broths as much as possible, some broccoli, etc.  do you think it is enough?  He takes vit d daily too.

We use this with Carlson's D Drops:

I add it to smoothies or (coconut milk) yogurt. We also use tons of bone broth, eat greens every day, and drink herbal infusions made from nourishing herbs like nettles.

DS1 could not take any dairy for the first few years but where we are, it's not traditionally the main source of calcium anyway. He had small fishes (about 1-2 cm in length) cooked with their bones intact and eaten whole, first in porrdige, and when he was older, deep fried as snacks. So that's plenty of calcium. He also had the occasional fortified soy milk, plenty of greens, seeds and nuts. DS2's diet was much harder to balance out. Thick broth with plenty of vegetables put in (I remove the veg so he just takes the soup. Else it's too much fiber for him).

I just looked at the side of the Almond milk container and it said 1 serving was 45% of your calcium needs. Also, fortified cereals may have some (not sure how much since we only have Crispy Rice Cereal and Rice Chex). We also do bone broths (a lot), salmon, broccoli, and all that stuff.

I'm not sure if thats enough.  You could try adding in cal flour. and cal phos. as these are for calcium absorption as well.

I imagine you've tried Calm?

Almonds are high in calcium.  YOu could try making yogurt with ground almonds.  (Place almonds in a blender, add water, blend.  Pour into a jar, and add a tsp or tbs. of yougurt starter.  I use Swedish mjolk.  Its made on the counter.  Easy peasy!)
