Hi
Â
thank you in advance for all your help! Â I am newly expecting my second baby, and am looking to have a homebirth for the first time. Insurance will cover a CNM, but this is all brand new to me.
Â
any help is appreciated
Â
thank you

I believe the River Valley Midwives are CNM's who do homebirths in MA http://rivervalleymidwives.com. You may want to cross post this in the tribal area CT/MA/RI

I'm with Audra Karp of Northeast Community Midwifery. She's great - very layed back which is what I need. This will be my 2nd homebirth with her. I had some post partum issues last time and she handled everything beautifully without a transfer. I totally trust her - but shes a CPM not a CNM. She is very involved in the midwifery community and she may be a good resource for you.Â
Shes in Roslindale, but is coming to the Cape for me and does so regularly for others as well.
Happy Homebirthing!
If you're looking into CPM's too (you might want to check you're insurance, to see if it specifies CNM, or just "Certified Midwife"), then I'll just throw out my rec for Sue Smith, I'm seeing her right now and I love her. I would describe her as an old-school midwife, in the sense that she's high-touch but low tech. It was important to me to find someone that didn't routinely do ultrasounds, GD testing, vitamin K shot, etc., but still could offer them if deemed necessary.Â
