Dr. suspects another big baby and SPD!

Thread Starter

My DS was 9lbs 10oz and 22 in long and he was born at 38 wks +3 days.

I am currently 26 weeks pregnant and I have been having extreme pressure in my pelvic floor region for about 4 weeks. But in the last 2 weeks I have been having aches in my pubic bone, hips, butt, and back.  My back pops really hard sometimes.  I can not walk or stand more than 5 minutes without that pain coming.  Its hard for me to get out of sitting positions and rolling over in bed.

The doc pressed on my pubic bone and she said there is a gap and she suspects I have SPD.  She said I am measuring big and she wants me to have another Ultrasound at 29 weeks to check my cervical length and size of baby.  She also stated that I need to see a PT, so that I can get realigned and possible get a brace/support belt.  Oh and she said she will get me a temp. disabled person place card until my due date.

I can not afford a PT/Chiropractor at all...

Does anyone know of ways to cope with SPD?....exercises, support belts, heat or cold packs....etc

The book Essential Exercises for the Childbearing Year has lots of info and exercises that help. I'd say though you need a new dr as well.

I would ask around some chiropractors are great with payment plans and lesser fees (I had one who let me pay $15 a visit back when I had DS)

Only advice, get an exercise ball and only sit on that, not chairs. They help keep you sitting straight and in alignment. That helped me a ton after DS and prior to that after a car accident.
