How long can BM stay frozen in a regular freezer and be good?

I have a decent amount of milk frozen and I was considering donating it to Eats On Feets ....but I don't want to offer if my milk is too old. I have a stash from June of 2010-Nov. 2010. I know November is ok- but what about June?

Also--my little guy always drank it, but I think that I have excessive lipase in my milk because it doesn't taste/smell great after its been frozen, or sitting in the fridge for more then 1 day---certainly different then when freshly expressed. Not sure if donating that sort of thing is a good idea? Its the typical waxy soapy taste/smell that people describe with excess lipase- although I never did anything with the expressed milk to "fix" it because my son didn't seem to mind.

I just don't want to offer a crappy "product" to anyone! :)

stand alone freezer is 12 months i think.

i'd use it unless it had gone bad (rancid), but that's just me :)

Oops- I should have mentioned that it's in a freezer/fridge combo- not a stand alone.

nak again!

I'd still use it if it didn't smell or taste rancid. :)  I think for fridge/freezer it is 6 months,

kellymom says 3-6 months for full term health children.  http://www.kellymom.com/bf/pumping/milkstorage.html

she also says "Breastmilk is not spoiled unless it smells really bad or tastes sour."

One book I have says 6 months in a regular freezer, 12 months in a locker freezer. But one book says, it can freeze for maybe up to a few years, although some nutrients may be lost it can still be used if not obviously spoiled.
