We do.  The toothfairy here leaves a note and $1 for every tooth.

When my daughter (now 14) lost her first tooth, we tried to do the tooth fairy.  She cried and cried that she wanted her tooth back.  I told her to write the tooth fairy a note, which she did . "Dear Tooth Fairy (Mom),  I want my tooth back NOW.  Love, M****  She was six years old.  She just never bought it.

Yep.  SO's grandmother got us this cool tooth pillow and book for recording which tooth was lost when, and how.  The tooth fairy gives SD a dollar a tooth.  I also have a small box from the craft store that I am going to paint a tooth fairy on (penciled it on so far) into which I will put all her teeth (which for now reside in a zip-lock bag).  I have to make sure she doesn't find either the box or the teeth while the tooth fairy is still visiting her, lol.
