Is post-ovulation spotting a problem?

First off, I'm not currently TTC or even having sex, so there's no chance of pregnancy going on here. Sooooo....

Other than being really annoying, is spotting post-ovulation indicitive of any problems? I'm on my second cycle post-mirena and both cycles now I have strated spotting and/or have pink tinged CM after O. It's bright pink/red, so new blood not stuff left over from last cycle. Last cycle it started 2 DPO and lasted until AF started 11 days later. I'm now 7 dpo and starting to spot again.

I'm worried that it may mean my progesterone is too low in my LP, which could cause issues with implantation/sticking when I am TTC. I've had two m/c and they suspect it's because my progesterone was too low. When I got pregnant with my last baby I saw an ob right away (at about 5 weeks) and she ordered a blood test which showed that my levels were on the very low end of normal and she immediately put me on Prometrium.

I'll start TTC this summer so I'm just wondering if this is something I can work on "fixing" naturally (with herbs or other supplements) before then. Of course it's also entirely possible my hormones are just still off from the Mirena and this will stop after a few more cycles, I'd just like to hear some opinions.

Thanks!

LP spotting can be sign of low progesterone, or other hormonal imbalances.  There are some things you can do to try to fix it naturally.  One is to take a B-6 Vitamin (or B-Complex).  I had post-O spotting, and took the B-50 Complex.  It did push my spotting back from 6/7dpo to around 11dpo, so it was an improvement.  I've since switched to a prescription medicine (Clomid) since I've been trying for 12 months, but the B-Complex is definitely worth a try if you are just starting to try again.  There are some other things that you can try, but that's the only one I tried.  Maybe some other ladies on here can offer other options.

Good luck!

Well you had a decently long LP. ANd I personally don't believe that starting prog supps so late in the game helps things. I think your LP/progesterone is fine. But if you are worried, b6 after O worked wonders for me. Clomid helps a lot of people too. I'm on it but my LP was already fixed by that point.

Other than that, some people are just spotters! I used to spot for a week before af. I spotted from 4 to 8 weeks in my healthy pregnancy. Sometimes tehre's no explanation for it.

I also take b50 complex to help lengthen my lp, I usually spot 2-4 days before af. So far I haven't noticed a difference. I had one cycle that I spotted from o til af. Hopefully it is just your body coming off bc & you will be back to normal soon!
