Safety First OnSIDE Air - got for $60 - what can you tell me about it?

So I'd never heard of the Onside Air before, but I saw it today at my BRU for $60 on sale so I bought it. I'm intending to use it as a backup seat/ Grandma's car seat for almost 3 yo DS, and as a seat for the newborn this summer since the Boulevard will probably be too big for a while.

I know it's only a 40 lb convertible, which maybe explains the price range, but it seems to have low bottom slots so I thought it might be handy. Any reason it wouldn't be good for the purposes I mentioned? If it's a terrible seat because installing it will make me cry, I'd rather know now so I can return it before I open it! wink1.gif

Thanks for any info.

ETA: Came back to correct the seat name. I originally thought it was called the Onboard air, but now I see it's called the Onside Air and the Onboard Air is an infant seat. So, the OnSIDE Air (rf to 40, ff 22 - 40) is what I bought.

I haven't seen it IRL, but from looking at the picture it looks like it will install like a Scenera RF and require the use of a pool noodle or rolled towel.

It's a Scenera with air pillows on the side, basically.

So it's likely to definite I will need a pool noodle/towel for the rf install, I guess? Hm. That makes it less appealing as a spare seat since installing will be a pain each time.

Does anyone have one of these, and if so how is the rf install?

I have a Scenera in my in-laws car and after a couple of installs it's not hard at all.  I just keep a pool noodle on hand.
