How to heal pink eye with breast milk?

My dh got pink eye and ended up using ointment antibiotics for a few days to clear it up.  Now my one year old has it.  I've been putting breast milk in his eyes a few times a day for three days now.  It seems to be improving and I thought it was entirely gone today, but then more eye goobers appeared this evening.

Have any of you healed pink eye with breast milk?  If so, how long did it take and how often did you put it in their eyes?  Is it important to keep removing the goop?  Should I be massaging the duct with the milk in it?  Anything else I should be doing?

TIA!

I always filled a medicine dropper with freshly pumped milk, and then drowned the eye in it, every time I changed a diaper--- so eight or ten times a day. I used to see marked improvement within 24 hours, though. If it's not cleared up, I would probably go looking for medical treatment. You may be dealing with a more stubborn infection.
