Dentist

Absolutely no clue where to post this...mods, please feel free to move where it's better suited.

I started having a horrendous pain in my gums/tooth/root/roof of mouth after about week two of my sinus infection. Yesterday was horrible...hurt sooo bad to chew and just hurt in general. Today was fine as I woke up and carried about my day. Just about an hour ago, right below my cheek bones where my sinus infection was, started to hurt again. And then about 15 minutes ago my teeth, in the same spot, started hurting. I have a slight headache, but its mostly my face and teeth. I'm pretty sure I have an infection/cavity of some sort and I'm pretty sure that tooth is cracked.

So my question is...do I go see a dentist? Is it safe? I can't wait another 3-4 months until I have this baby...it's getting worse as the days go by. I would call my OB...but not really sure of her answer. I mean, she DOES C sections for petes sake! Lol I don't fully trust her thoughts(as why I'm transferring to MW soon! Lol)

I'm pretty sure dentistry is safe while pregnant.

I had a cracked tooth once but not at the same time as a sinus infection.  It won't hurt when you bite into things but rather when you release your teeth from the food.  Mostly hurts with harder/crunchy food.

You could call the dentist and ask....they will tell you over the phone if it is safe or not.

Good luck....tooth pain and sinus pain together doesn't sound like much fun.

I would go.

Infections in your teeth and gums can get out of hand quickly. Even if there is some risk to dental care while pregnant (which I don't have any reason to suspect) an out of control infection is a bigger risk I think.

I agree.  Definitely go.  Just make sure the dentist and hygenist know you are pregnant.

Yes you should go get seen. Infections can be bad for pregnancy and dental work for the most part is safe and they will know how to handle the pregnancy. With ds1 I had to get 2 wisdom teeth pulled because they were hurting so bad, and this dentist actually was specialised in dentistry and oral surgery for pregnancy. With ds2 I saw a denstist every 3 months because during pregnancy I lose a lot of calcium in my teeth, eventhough I drink milk and take vitamins.

Thanks everyone! I was really hoping it would be ok. I'm tired of the pain and headaches. Funny thing is though...I'm fine during the day until the afternoon. Like right now...I feel fine. I guess I better go get this taken care of so I can enjoy the rest of my pg before I get too uncomfortable with being pg! Lol

Thank you ladies once again!!!!
