Vitamin K

What is the difference between oral Vit K and injected other than the method? Is one preferable over the other?

The oral has to be administered more often (three times is suggested over four weeks) and there haven't been conclusive studies to confirm how effective it is at preventing hemorrhagic disease of the newborn.

Here's some good info: http://www.withwoman.co.uk/contents/info/vitamink.html

I've heard the oral kind tastes bad. If I chose for myself, I'd much rather have something that hurt than something that didn't taste good, but I don't know what a baby would prefer. Maybe the bad taste.

footnote: if you do choose the oral route, be sure to check that it's not in any sort of peanut base. some are. double check all ingredients!

all the best,
