Radian 65 in 1997 Honda?

last year we got a 2nd car seat (radian 65) for husbands car  but before we could get it in, car broke down and we were without a 2nd vehicle for a few months. During that time I took out the FF Britax that was in my van and put in the RF Radian cause I thought it woudl be safer (however, serious doubts about that cause the install is not good- seat easily tilts to side, if I pull on it a little it would have no problem, I'm always trying to straighten it back out. It was even inspected but they had never seen this car seat before and said it was good and was supposed to "give" and bounce with the car in impact- I think they meant rock up and down though not side to side but in my thinking it would likely tip to one side only, I get nervous everytime we go somewhere cause I don't think its right still)  So I'd like to either turn it FF or put the Britax back in the way it was. Havent decided yet but since the britax is now in our other car will likely just turn around the radian which defeats the whole purpose of me choosing that one in the first place (to RF)

In the meantime, he got another car (older Honda, 97 I think) and won't try putting the Radian in it cause he said it would hit into the front seats and be dangerous (he hasnt even tried, I think he doenst want the hassle or time)

Is this true?  Does anyone with cars use a RF Radian 65? Does it hit seat backs (in front seat)

He's installed our Britax FF in his car instead. Got a great install- it also was great in my van.  I still have the problem of the radian in mine not being great and guess I will have to turn it around and hope its better. But choosing between which carseat to use FF (britax boulevard or radian65) -which would you choose? (in terms of safety if both installed tightly?  I notice the radian doesnt have those big side things around head, so guessing it wouldn't be as safe but not real sure.

Where are you checking for movement with the Radian?  ONLY check at the belt path, not at the side or top of the seat--some wriggle or movement there is normal and expected.  You can tether seat rear-facing, which will make it more stable.

The Radians actually install very well rear-facing in the Accord and Civic, so definitely try it out RF before you install it FF :)

I use a Radian RF in a '99 Toyota Corolla, and my DH is 6'2". You would need to check and make sure that the vehicle manual allows for the carseat to touch the front seats (I believe it does, but you should always check). Assuming it does, there should be no difficulty getting the Radian to fit RF in the Honda.

Also, our Radian does tilt a little to the side, and has give up/down and side/side *if* I am not checking at the belt path. At the belt path it is rock solid, essentially *no* movement.  And, since it is RF-tethered, I really don't worry about it tipping further in a crash.
