Is my 20mo in danger??...

DD1 (a very helpful 4.5 yo who STILL does not get that she has to ask mommy FIRST before giving food to the baby) gave DD2 a juice cup (plastic sippy) that had about 1 oz of unfiltered apple juice in it from SEVERAL days ago...she said she found it under the couch (I was wondering where it went). DD2 drank the whole thing (hello?! Didn't she realize it tasted bad?!). The cup smells so nasty...like gross apple wine or something.

Dangerous? Are we looking at a night in the ER from something like this or should we just call it "fermented foods!" and be happy? :-)

She's fine...I'm guessing she drank it about 30 minutes before I discovered what had happened. She's been playing in her playpen happily and just nursed and had some fresh(!) apple juice just now.

Reassurances appreciated...or...you know...advice to call poison control. That's okay too if it's warranted. :-)

Thanks.

At the same age DD1 found an old sippy cup under the seat in the car. It had water in it but some food must have had found its way in because there was a huge moldy thing floating in there. She had drank some of the water while I was unloading groceries and did not get sick. Of course it's not quite the same as old apple juice but I still wanted to tell you smile.gif

haha! Thanks. :-) There was nothing *floating* in this cup...no visible mold, but holy moly...it smelled nasty. She's still fine...maybe a little...happier than usual. So...maybe she's just a little tipsy? Is that possible? :-)

haha - I think it sort of made her a little happy. :-) She was fine though. Unfortunately, any effects didn't translate into a longer nap or better sleeping last night. I was still up with her every 3-4 hours nursing. Not sure how much longer I can keep that up but...sigh...the things we do for love. :-)
