i promised myself i never would, not until she was way older, but i let DD sit and watch TV the other day so i could get some cleaning done. for Christmas she got a Little People DVD that has 5 video clips that are about 4 min long. but still, ugh! sort of frustrating, but sort of funny, too.

the things you do to get through the day!! eyesroll.gif

Welcome to the tribe of people who occasionally set up a dvd rather than playdough/blocks/whatever, since you can both clean and be assured that destruction is not for the most part making more cleaning work. :)

Oh, it's unfortunate, but DVDs/TV can be so helpful when you must get things done....  In my case it's so I can cook, etc, without kids clobbering each other.   :\   They're a bit older than yours now, and I don't feel it's quite as big a deal for 4 & 6 year olds, but I'll admit I introduced Elmo when ds1 was still a baby so I could take a shower without him crying for me to come out the whole time!

Yeah, even my mom noticed how dramatically cleaner my house got after my oldest turned 2 and we removed the tv ban. As someone who doesn't have babysitters, a cleaning svc, or nearby family to help, tv is a true lifesaver.
