what could this possibly be at the back of my throat???

I just noticed this today because everytime I swallow, it feels like there is something stuck in the back of my throat that is scratching me.  So I looked with a flashlight, and on one of those side bumps in the back of my throat is a little piece of something sticking out that looks like a little fishbone or something.  it is attached, like growing out of me:(, not food or anything that I swallowed.  what the hey could this be?!

Weird! I think you should go get it checked out. How long have you had this? There are some serious things that cause a "something at the back of the throat" feeling so I wouldn't just ignore it and hope it goes away. Go get it checked out and ease your mind.

yes, i made an appointment with my GP already.  i think it is very strange...thank you for your reply!

Sounds like tonsil stones, which are nothing to be worried about.  I used to get them a lot when I had tonsillitis a lot, prior to getting my tonsils out. Now my DH is getting them.

wow!  ok, so tonsil stones are not what this is, but now i know what i've been coughing up for about 6 years now, thank you! i thought it was so weird of me, these little creme things would just cough up every once in a while.  i also had strep throat a lot as a child, every year since i can remember.  im sure there is some connection that i could find and heal:) but this thing that i am wondering about now is very thin like a fishbone and just sticking out, maybe a half a centimeter long??

Could be HPV in the throat.  I just recently had 1  removed.  It was not a huge deal, though it kinda freaked me out.
