I've been wondering this lately.  I really feel like doing bedtime different and I'm curious what everyone else does.  Right now, generally dd goes to bed around 9, often a bit later.  She REALLY needs to have a bedtime because she's a kid who will keep going and have a total meltdown.  The baby sometimes goes to bed earlier, mostly stays with me (asleep or awake).  DH and I sometimes go to bed together maybe 2-3 hours after DD1, but DH sometimes stays up late, so I'll go to bed 12-ish and he'll stay up a few more hours.  A couple times if I need to get something done, I'll stay up after him. DH gets up alone in the morning when he has work, the rest of us sleep in later.

I'm thinking of switching so we all go to bed together and I can get up really early to get adult time with DH.  I think it migh make bedtimes easier on the kids, but I'm a night person and like my night time.  unfortunately, DH's gone from 7:15 or so to as late as 8-8:30 pm so it's hard to shift our hours

I stay up the latest of anyone in my house. My DH goes to bed earlier than me because he has to get up at 4am for work. I put the kids to bed around 8 and then spend time with dh till he goes to bed then go to bed around 12. If I get up early to get alone time (the whole reason I stay up late, alone) my nursling gets up within 5 minutes but at night she wakes every 2 hrs to nurse till I come to bed then nurses all. night. long. *eye roll* lol. This works for us.

I say if you want to try it do and see how it works for you.

we generally all go to bed at the same time and get up around the same time. however with the holiday things got a little crazy. sometimes if ds naps late, he and i stay up and snuggle/watch a movie/nurse. sometimes we put the kids to bed and dh and i hang out for a bit. sometimes everyone goes to bed and i stay up to enjoy some silence wink1.gif i prefer going to bed at the same time/waking the same time- it just feels good/natural for our family atm!

Now I wonder how that works because dd1 doesn't nap, but needs a good 11 hours at night and I sleep 7-9 hours at night.  DO your kids sleep less and then nap?  There is no way DD1 would nap.  And if she did, she'd stay up until 1 am.  no thanks!

DSS 10 goes down at 8 PM and then he'll read for about 15-30 minutes with lights out at 8:30. DH usually goes and lays with him from about 8:15 until 8:45. DSD 13 and 11 go to bed at the same time, usually in bed around 8:30 to read and then lights out at 9. DSS 15 usually gets in bed between 9:30-10 if he doesn't have homework to read and then lights out by 10:30 or so. On weekends, he sometimes stays up later with DH til about midnight. I go to bed around 10 PM and DH usually goes to bed between 11 PM and midnight.

When the kids are at their mom's house, I'm usually in bed by 8 PM with lights out by 9:30 but I'm also 12 weeks pregnant!

Typically DD and I go to bed together and DP stays up and putters. Sometimes when I'm really tired though I go to bed and DH brings DD to bed when he comes to bed. It's pretty sad that I go to bed earlier than the 2 year old wink1.gif

Currently DS does not have much of a schedule. He has been staying up until 10 or so. We usually all go down at the same time. I prefer DH to help rock/ soothe DS to sleep. Once DS is out, DH and I talk quietly in bed, etc. but rarely leave DS asleep and go back upstairs.
