Trying to decide on an infant seat

I am having #4 in April and need a new infant seat.  I currently have 2 HBBs for my oldest kids, 2 marathons that aren't in constant use right now, a Radian that almost never gets used, and a Graco Nautilus (my 3.5yo is in this one most often).  We like having the option of extra seats for the second car, but I am most looking for the fourth seat we will put into our 2002 Chevy Venture Minivan.

I LOVE our Marathons.  We have bought one for each child and we used the one from our oldest until it expired.  I don't think that it would be a good fit for a newborn though -- my babes have all been over 8 pounds, but the lowest shoulder slot is pretty high.  I am going to get an infant bucket for at least the first few months until the Marathon is a better fit and the babe isn't constanly fallinga sleep in the car, I'd hate to have to wake him up every time we get somewhere.

The two infant seats I am looking at are the Graco Snugride and the Britax Chaperone.  I had a snugride that lasted through my first three kids, and that's what I was thinking I would go with, but albeebaby.com is having 25% off Britax seats right now, which brings the prices within $20 of each other.  Are there any big safety/quality differences between the two?

Any info is appreciated, thanks!

I would be very leery of the Chaperone unless you can try before you buy or get it from somewhere with free return shipping.  The base is HUGE and 80% of it must be on the vehicle seat.  It leads to a lot of incompatibilities.

And thumbs up for knowing that the Marathon is not a good fit for almost all newborns.  A bucket will serve you much better.
