Dear weather.com,

I have a few friends scattered about the northern part of the US and Canada. Please change your weather prediction for this week. We're all trying to run 4-5 times a week, but we don't like squishing through the rain every day. Seeing a week full of rain ahead really saps our motivation.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Wendy

Seriously, my goals are still:

Run 4 times, total aerobic exercise of 360 minutes, 350 situps and 150 pushups (increasing to 25 of them from the toes). I'm feeling better today, and I actually got a bit of sleep because my daughter seems to be feeling better. I plan to go this evening after work.

Since you both shared pictures, here you go:

(I wiped Karen's page clean to update it, and never got very far. You can see me by either clicking on The Snyder Family or looking at ~wpanero)

T Geo - your brain power scares me - I don't think I understood anything of what you do in geophysics! I see your dh is a gear-head. My BS is in Industrial Engineering which makes me an imaginary engineer - I always said I was just pretending to be a gear-head and I think it's true now because I work in student services instead of engineering -ha ha.

Cheers!

.....WAAAAY off topic......

I GOT A JOB INTERVIEW!

Yikes! Only 2.5 weeks to prepare. They want two lectures, one of which I'm going to have to write from scratch! Off to go running to contemplate the best strategy!

(Schatz, you're right. I need to rewrite my web page to make it understandable to someone besides my dissertation advisor.)

Oh my, I am on such a high right now!!! I just ran with my Monday night running group, and I did 2 9 min sets, and 1 10 min sets...two 1 min walk breaks. I did 5 ks in 28 mins/run 2 mins/walk.
THe best was, I could feel my MUSCLE...I felt so STRONG....that's all I kept thinking...the first set I was sluggish, I was sitting at work for 12 hrs...and I almost didn't go. But then the second set, I was that much faster, and the last set...well, I have to say, I ran pretty damn good!!!

Ah....so I biked 8ks, ran 5ks, off to do my sit ups and push ups!!!!!

way to go mamasoleil! Sometimes the best runs are the ones where you really don't want to go but then you do and it feels awesome.

I ran this morning (35 minutes, one brief stretch at 5 min in - I have to drive it in my car to see exactly how far). I kept telling myself that the 38F weather was invigorating and not cold after last week's 58F and humid. So my running is going well, I'm on track for the race at the end of April. Now I need to add in push ups like you girls so I don't have jiggly arms this summer (no offense meant by calling you girls - I do that all the time, or I call people kids - just my little informal, affectionate way I guess ).

Wendy - job interview - woohoo!! go Wendy, go Wendy. Oh, I didn't mean you should rewrite your webpage -- I just meant that I'm no geophysicist and it was WAY over my head.

I ran errands yesterday -- literally! I ran 5 minutes, then stretch, then 20 minutes, walk 1, run 10 minutes, for a total of 35 minutes. For the last 2 minutes, I tried to lengthen my stride a bit. I was going a lot faster and it felt good. I stretched, then did my sit ups and push ups outside while my daughter chased squirrils. A good evening, all in all.

I was a tad excited last night, though. My husband said I was talking loud and FAST, and I was awake from 2:15-5:45 am. I can get a lot of work done in the middle of the night, though I don't recommend making a habit out of it.

(And yes, my web page needs to be readable to a wider audience. It's been on my to do list for about a year now, woefully neglected.)

I am so so so proud of us!!!

I did not run today, I'm on nights. So I 'tried' to sleep, but ended up laying in bed for like 3 hrs, fully awake. I kept picturing myself running:
But this morning, I went walking with ds, and we just hung out, it was nice, I miss him so much after 2 day shifts!!! And we went to dd's school and had lunch with her. It was nice. And I biked into work, got full of mud, it was great!!!! NOw I"m bound to my pc for the next 12 hrs!!!!!
Keep on running sistahs!!!!

I know you have already started, but can I join??

I haven't truly run since before my ds (11 months) was born. I miss it SOOOO much. I ran a couple times with my dh, but I need to get back in the game. I will start again tomorrow. I think I have to do run/walk, but at least I am out there

Welcome!!!! Of course you can join!
Have a good one tomorrow. Let us know how you did!!!

Yeah, Proudmom! Welcome. We've all started slowly. I started about this time last year jogging 2 minutes and walking 3, repeating that cycle 8 times. I slowly increased the jogging time and decreased the walking time, making it to jogging 4 and walking 1 by December. I took a "everything is covered in snow and ice" break until MS got me going again in February.

We've been following this program to get moving:
http://www.sanbernardinopacers.com/b...g%20runner.htm

Following it has gotten me moving longer more quickly than my approach last year did.

Went out again yesterday -- total jogging time of 42 minutes (2 breaks). I was tired but felt great. I also didn't get the ammonia smell when I got home, so maybe I've finally figured out how to eat enough before going.

Ditto on the welcome to Proudmom!

I ran Tuesday and Wednesday - 35 min Tues, 40 min Wed. The route I did Wed was essentially the same one I did on Sunday but I completed it more quickly so that makes me feel good. Thought about going today but my legs are just too tired. Plus it should be warmer tomorrow morning than today so I will go then. I have to drive my two new routes in my car but I think I'm running about 3.5-4 miles. I'm on pace for the 5-mile fun race (well, some people actually compete but not me) at the end of this month. We're going to my brother's the weekend before the race and I'm actually looking forward to running with my SIL. She runs almost every day and has for about 20 years (she's very addicted) and usually kicks my butt. She probably will when we visit this time but I think I can hang with her for 5 miles and get in a good practice for the following weekend.

DH has a cold - I hope like heck I can keep from getting it (and dd too).

MS - what kind of work do you do that you work such long shifts?

It's here today - yea!

It's really sunny here too....but the winds are 20km/h, and I had to run against them my last two sets today!!!!!Very tired. It wasn't the best run...but I did 2 9 min sets, one 6 min set, and one 5 min set!!!! I was called into work, but turned it down, I'm gonna cuddle up with the kids, and watch Brother Bear...prolly have some popcorn too!!!!
I'm running tomorrow (my bday ) and Saturday, Sunday. That'll make 5 runs this wk. Tomorrow's run should be better, I won't be so tired. I kept telling myself today that I was just tired, and that's why I was so sluggish!!!!!!:

Schatz~I work in dispatch, for our police....but don't hold that against me!!!!

BTW~
Wendy, the weather has been superb...only one day of rain, where it was supposed to rain EVERYDAY!!!THANK YOU!!!!

So... I started a thread in TAO asking who here is responsible for tagging all of us. No one seems to have seen it. Soooo. Fess up! Who done it? I do suddenly feel as though I have power over the weather. (and sooooo loved. )

Yes, awful wind today here, too. It was coming from the direction that the hill runs, so it meant that uphill = into the wind.

Went a total of 27 minutes (23, walk 2, jog 4).

Geo, I was bored at work last night!!! :LOL

Yeah, the wind was also against me uphill!!!! SUper hard!!!

I got ddddc'd
I can't believe it - thank you, mamasoleil! I feel all warm and squishy inside and laughed at my tag line :LOL I also see I've finally surpassed 200 posts - I guess I'm coming into my own here at MDC.

So.... I had hoped to run this morning and get spaghetti sauce going in the crockpot for dinner but I only managed the sauce. I was just crawling out of bed at 4 when dd woke up. It took an hour of latch on one side, latch on the other side to get her back to sleep so no run this am. But it's supposed to be in the upper 50s today (thanks geo!) so I hope to go tonight. I think I've become my mother. She always got up super early when I was growing up to start supper and make cookies. This realization would be scary except that I really love my mom.

But I digress.... I drove my long run before work this morning to check the length and it is 4 miles on the head so that makes me feel good.

Good weekend running to all.
