so confused.

Hey everyone!!  So here is my problem.  Im 18dpo and no af in sight.  I tested yesterday and got a BFN :(  I chart my temps so i know i O'd on CD19.  Im just so confused.  I usually have a 33 day cycle so im officially 4 days late.  My temps are still really high.  Has anyone tested at 17dpo, got a bfn and still went on to find they were pregnant?  I've had a lot of symptoms: breast tenderness and fullness, nauseas, so tired, and going to the bathroom a lot.  The biggest thing is my temp though.  Maybe the test i used wasnt sensitive enough i used one of those dollar tree once.  I guess ill get a FR this weekend and just hope for the best.

I've always heard that 18 days of sustained high temps are a sign of pregnancy, so it sounds very promising!  Do you have a link to your chart that you could share??  Some ladies do just test late, so hopefully that's what it will be for you.  Good luck!!

What test did you use?

depending on when you implanted your levels would be different.

Honestly if you have a dollar store I think those tests are the best (and one of the most sensitive out there 25ml)

Good luck!!

Do you have a chart online that you are willing to share? Sometimes another pair of eyes will identify a different O date.

Yeah, your O date could potentially be wrong or you just metabolize HCG different and may take a bit longer to get a BFP. Try a different brand pink dye test like FRER.

i do chart online with fertilityfriend.com i will post it when i take my lunch.  Im not sure how to do it, so i need to mess with it and figure it out.  I did have some spotting at 8dpo-10dpo.  I was hopeful it was implantation bleeding bc i NEVER spot in between periods.  Thanks for helping me out.

I definitely think no AF and continued high temps are a really positive sign. From everything I've been reading, those temps are really the key. As long as they stay up, I would keep testing. Good luck! :)

That works. Looks like FF is using EWCM to identify ovulation. Going by temps, I don't think you can identify a clear O date. About half of your temps before CD 19 are above FF's coverline. I think I'd put your CL a couple tenths higher, so O could be as late as CD26. Of course, that doesn't account for your EWCM or spotting, but it could explain why there is no BFP yet. Do you have any history of O'ing that late?

Well this is my 3rd month of charting so i dont  have much to go on.  But so far i have o'd, or thought i o'd around the same time frame each month.  My cycles are always between 31-33 days though. .  Oh i do drink a lot of water and when i took that dollar tree test it was after work so i had refilled my water bottle 5 times i think.  So im not drinking much water today and am going to do a test first thing in the morning with a FR test.  If i still get a BFN, i will go to the Dr. on monday and get a blood test.  Just getting frustrated either want to start af or see a BFP.. :/

i do see what u mean by my temps being kind of crazy before i O'd.  I started going to the gym this month 3 times a week.  I wonder if that messed with my ovulation?

I agree that you could have O'ed later than FF says, like maybe between CD 23-26?   No matter when you O'ed, I hope you get your BFP this month!

In past cycles, what was the range of temps during the tww? And what was your coverline?

I do think you've o'd but probably not whn you think or you'd have a bfp by now. BFNs at a true 18dpo are very very rare.

If you cd 22 temp is taken away, and had you temped on those missing days, FF might have put your crosshairs later. Hard to say though with that cm and spotting.

yay i missed those few days i wasnt so worried bc i thought i had O'd but now im mad at myself.  :/  I just think i o'd later than i originally thought.  If i o'd around cd26 af will be here soon.  Just ready for it to be here so i can start the next month.  Also i get EWCM a lot  (im hoping thats a good thing)  i just stopped checking bc i thought i o'd.  This is my 3rd month charting.  My first two months i charted orally and my temps were crazy sometime as low as 94, so i did some research and discovered if u sleep with ur month open it can really mess up ur morning temps.  So this month i did all my temps vaginally.  I still feel like my before o temps are all over the place... but my temps have been good after i o'd at least not so crazy.  im just going to keep on going for a few more months and hope for the best.  I mean i at least think i am ovulating so thats a good sign.  Thanks for ur help everyone!! :)

Just wanted to chime in that with only a couple charts under your belt, i wouldn't mess with stopping temping mid cycle etc...until you start to see a common pattern. I def think that you O'd, but not when FF is saying. somewhere where the missing temps are - cd23-26. On the plus side, that means it could still be early for a BFP so you are still "in the game"!  Good luck!

yay i wont be stopping temp again, trust me..lol.  I went out of town and just have to be more careful from now on.    Do u guys think its bad that i have such long cycles?  I mean i know the normal is 28 days, mine our 35 or longer.  so instead of having 12 chances a year of getting pregnant i only have like 10 :/  Any supplements u would recommend?  I already take a prenatal vitamin with folic acid.

gosh there are ladies with CRAZY long cycles in the hundred day range!
28 is only considered average and 35 would be well within the range of normalcy. And you really only need that 1 chance to conceive so getting 9 more is bonus! LOL Don't stress. And re: supplements, there are so many options for so many different things.....I personally wouldn't take anything but the folic acid without knowing if you specifically need something else. I think if you are in good health, make healthy food choices etc...folic acid is really the only thing great to boost prior to conception to help reduce risk of birth defects.  I think charting and getting to know your body on that level is a great start and you may be one of the lucky few that don't need any help (other than DH LOL) to conceive. Good luck!

Well then i will just stick with what im doing and just focus on charting.  I was going to get the book... Taking Control of Your Fertility.  I've heard some great things about that book and just wait for my next O.  I had a big temp drop this morning from 97.9 to 97.2 so i think af will be here tomorrow.  Kind of ready for her to be here so i can get started with my next cycle.  Im going to try using the ovulation kits and see what happens.

I had my annual Drs. appt 4 months ago and told her we were going to start trying and she told me to mainly just take folic acid and a multivitamin.  Otherwise my cholesterol, blood pressure, sugars, thyriod all that was really good.  Ive been eating really healthy and no alcohol, although im not much of a drinker anyways so that wasnt hard for me. Thanks for ur help!
