MDC Weight-loss Club: Monday weigh-in (March 29th)

Hi fellows!

April's coming this week!!! Snow is melting, Sun is shining, temp is warming, and there was an American Robin in my backyard this morning!

Last week I was still 130,5
This morning I'm still 130,5 :LOL

I'm happy with it!

In fact, my focus is now on my dancing because the show is in a month and I'm still feeling sooooo goofy with the TapDance.:

I have to commit myself to dance every single day until the show and working hard to be lighter (not meaning weight) on my shoes. I have to beleive I'm able to do it because one of my biggest problem with this is insecurity and fear.

So, I will eat right, drink a lot of water and be active!

Have a nice week!

Isn't this weather beautiful?! I love it! It's rainy today, but yesterday dh and I put the kiddos in the jogging stroller and walked a few miles (with stops to the Library and video store on the way). It was so beautiful! This week is supposed to be rainy though, unfortunately.

I weighed this morning and I'm back to my weight two weeks ago (I gained 2.5lb last week, lost them this week). I guess 147 must be another one of my weight plateau. So this week, if the weather allows at some point, I will try to walk a couple of miles... I may not get to though. At least I'm working out 3x/week I guess. I just need to get over this hump so I can keep going!

Hope everyone has a good weigh-in this week!! Have fun with the dancing Valérie!

5'2"
Start weight: 154lbs
Last week: 149.5
This week: 147
Weight-loss this week: 2.5lb
Total weight-loss since Christmas: 7lbs

Mini-goal: 145lbs

Final goal: 125-135lbs

(all weights are with shoes & clothes)

I have no idea what I weighed last week so I don't know what I've lost. I'm guessing about 3 lbs.

The weather was fantastic this last week here, too! I put DS in the backpack several days and walked. It is so nice to be outside in the sunshine. The cherry blossoms are blooming here in DC, the yellow bushes that I never know the name of are blooming, bulbs are opening up- I love this time of year here! The colors are so bright and vibrant- it looks like an Easter egg. :LOL I'm such a visual person that going for a walk to look at all the new growth on trees and flowers and in gardens really does it for me.... okay, so I got a little T.... I just really love spring.

I've given up my yoga class. I'm thinking of taking a different type of class for the spring/summer. Maybe some type of dance or martial arts or ..... I dunno, something different. So, walk, walk, walk.... drink water.... be careful with what I put in my mouth.

I was really sick the latter part of this week and didn't eat much so I'm not sure the two pounds are indicative of anything other than just not eating but I'll take it however I can get it!

Not my greatest week yet - some bad eating when the girl scout cookies arrived, but I urged my husband to eat them all as quickly as possible and he did quite well! I have been feeling a bit stuck at this weight this week, but looking at last week, I realized I actually did okay. Here's my info:

Last week: 183 lbs
Current weight: 181 lbs
Total loss this week: 2 lb
Total loss since baby: 45 lbs
Total loss since September: 31 lbs
Total Loss since joining MDC Club on 2/9: 13 lbs
New mini-goal: 180 lbs
Larger goal: 175 lbs
Ultimate Dream: 170 lbs

I had hoped to make my mini-goal by this week but I am one pound away still.
Well, next week for sure! I like to make 175 for Easter. We'll see!

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Hey gals. Everyone seems to chipper!! It was in the 80's here and we were at the park 3 days last week! Not bad for having a toddler and an 8 week old! Dh was out of town all day friday and saturday so I was all by myself. But it went well. Tracy started listening to me

Anyway, I have one more week till I weigh in. I step on the scal maybe once a week for a reference but I wish I could even stop that. I'm just curious to see where I am.

Height 5'0"
So my pp weight 2/04: 212
Waist on 3/3/04: 40"
Mini-goal of April 20:170
Ultimate goal: around 130

Last week:???
This week:???

So far: I feel great! I'm moving and eating better...except for the box of star crunches last week Who ate them all??? NOT ME....

Oh, and a good thing...my bra is now on the smallest clasp setting!!! Good bye back fat!!!

hey all-
I'm still the same as last week (168). I got another cold - I'm around too many toddlers. I'm going to workout this am and just try to be good to myself. I had a tooth filled last week and I can finally eat salad again! Dh is out of town almost all week this week so I think I will treat dd and I to lunch at the raw organic vegan place near us. Always makes me feel good. Cheers,

Leah

Hello all!
My blinds in Saskatchewan, Canada are open this morning to let all the bright light in. It feels so good.

Well I never weighed myself this morning as AF is here and I ate all week and I know I either stayed the same or gained and I don't want to discourage myself.

I did really good most of the week but if someone graces my presence with a treat I can't resist. Mom came over to visit and stayed at our house all week. She bought us a box of choc chip mint ice cream which we all ate in short order. Then DH brought me home Burger King on Friday. Apparently last time he came home with BK I complained he didn't get anything for me (I was just joking). So I ate the BK meal at 12:00 midnight. I told him if he enjoyed getting me treats he should either get me something healthy or something I could put away and ration. Well the next night he bought me a chocolate bar. I could have rationed it but I didn't: . I'm not strong enough yet to avoid the temptation. I'm ok for personally keeping stuff out of the house but when It's a gift I fold. Sigh, I think I must read Dr. Phil's ultimate weight loss solution again. And counter my consumption problems with lots and lots of exercise. Sorry for rambling, just needed to vent myfrustrations.

:LOL Sounds like my dh! He is such a dear, he'll run to the store and bring me home a bag of MSG-free cheese puffs. I can eat a bag of those, in say... 24 hours! I've asked him to avoid bringing me home any treats for the time being, I'm having trouble resisting them when I'm out and about!

Hi All,
Congrats to all of you who lost and hugs to those who didnt.

Despite eating well (at least I thought) and speedwalking for a mile + at least 3 times this past week I still managed to gain a pound.

I have decided I am not going to weigh myself weekly anymore, I find it discouraging and I think in a subtle way it contributes to me self sabotaging my weight loss.

So that said I am going to take a hiatus from this thread.

OT but really I am taking a sabitical from MDC for a while. Have alot of work to do on myself, with my family, getting through the last leg of tax season, and final exams (I want my Straight A's gosh darn it!). Even though I love spending time here, I am not sure if I am being as productive as I could be.

So hopefully I will be back with good news next month. That is if this thread is still around and Valerie Qc hasnt knocked down her dream goal. Go Val Go Val Go Val!! Whoop Whoop!!

Good luck everyone!!

Hugs,
Justine

Hi all

Just touching base - have no idea what I weigh today because I just got home from a long weekend at a resort, only worked out one
morning of the three, ate whatever I wanted (even though it was veg) and drank bloody mary's and wine and everything - plus the fact that i had to loll around in a two piece pretending i was comfrotable (ugh!) while all the other tight bodies were there - I feel like a huge fatty today!

But I'm back on the machines in the morning. Keep your fingers x'd for next Monday's check in.

Congrats to all.

Hi all! Spring is spring-ing here, too. Lots of sunshine (and showers today - but gentle spring rain, not storms) flowers are up everywhere (including my balcony - violets, pansies, geraniums, begonias, snapdragons, petunias, etc etc)

I did well this week - was down 5 lbs by the weekend, but too much salt & inactivity (plus the impending arrival of AF) pushed me up a couple of pounds in water weight. So here are the current stats:

Height: 5'5" ***
All-time high Jan. 2003 : 215
Began at MDC (last week ) : 195
Today: 192
Mini-goal: 185
Goal by Labor Day (my 25th b-day): 142

I'm emphasizing proteins & fruits/veggies, as well as 2L of water, minimum, per day. I'm also looking into starting yoga or pilates, probably using tapes at home (wild & crazy work schedule), so if anyone has favorite suggestions, speak up!

***I was wrong last week! How an adult not know her own height???? Finally measured at work & got 65.25 inches. So there.
Start: 223
Yesterday: 219......but then later that day 226....i think something is wrong with my scale.
maybe i will try the one in the store.....maybe i am retaining water?

Last week i did sit ups 2 days and I took a walk outside for about 20 minutes. I didn't go on the treadmill at all! My son is teething and needing me constantly.

Goals:
on the treadmill 3 times this week for 30 minutes of jogging, and sit ups everyday

Goodcents, enjoy your time away from MDC, but I hope you'll be back!

Mama Bee, those yellow bushes are forsythia. We had a great huge bush of it by our driveway that dh insisted we get rid of because it obscured the view of the street when backing up.

Good news for me this week - after posting last week about gaining almost 5 pounds in a week and a half on vacation I think it must have been water weight or a scale aberration or something.

(Cue "We're In the Money" music a la Marketplace on NPR....)

Last week: 154.5
Today: 148
Highest PP (Aug. 2002) 216
Started here at MDC: 198
Mini-goal: 140
Ultimate dream goal: 130

On a food note, I've been a vegetarian for 13 years but I've never been a bunny-rabbit vegetarian (i.e. all salads). I've really been trying to increase my intake of raw veggies these days, though, not to lose weight but just because I think I need to eat more veggies. I am not one to eat a salad and be satisfied with just that, but it is very satisfying to eat a huge bowl of salad with lunch or dinner!

Now if I could just get rid of this godawful cold that's had me coughing up a lung all week....

Congratulations everyone - for losing and for trying. The spring weather was amazing over the weekend, but where has it gone? Brrrr it's freezing out, and I have dd and ds bundled up in courdoroys and turtlenecks again .

My stats:
Height: 5'7"
Normal weight for me: 150 / size 10
Weight Pre-partum: 170
Weight 2 weeks post-partum: 218 / size 20

Weight last week: 187
Weight this week: 185
Mini goal: 178.5 - don't ask... I have digital scale issues

So all in all, a 2 lb loss, which is good as AF started and I've lost the usual 1/2 to 1 lb. of water weight I carry, in addition to the typical 1 to 1.5 lb/week loss! So feeeling groovy....

See you next week!

I'm so encouraged by those of you who lost weight this week. Chin up, those who didn't! I'm determined this morning and coming out of a depression/getting my life back in order so we'll see what happens.
