Could I Be? Preg test question.

I took a pregnancy test, and I saw the faintest of lines at first.  But after a few minutes, nothing.  What does that mean?

Here's the situation:

DS is 14 months, and my cycles have not returned.  Even when I did have cycles, they were very irregular.  DH and I DTD twice with no birth control.  But I didn't have fertile signs, like egg white CM or anything like that...  So...it seems unlikely I would be pregnant. and I don't want to waste money buying a bunch of tests.  It's just weird because this past week I have suddenly been hungrier than usual and don't know why.  That's the only symptom, and the fact that we DTD twice with no BC made me want to test.  I'm confused about the results though.    I know the line when I was pregnant with DS was not only darker (which I know doesn't mean much) but it was also thicker, and it seems that even a light line should be thicker than the fine line on my test...  Hmmm...  Anyone have any thoughts?  Should I buy another test to be sure?

I'd buy a digital if it were me. Best of luck!

Yeah, I'd buy a different brand and test first thing in the morning!

I'd wait a few days, buy a different test, and then wait.  I've seen the EPT pregnancy tests have a buy 2, get one free in a lot of stores right now.  But if you're seeing faint lines, it could be an indicator that you don't have enough hormones yet.  In a few days your chances of knowing for sure would be better.

Can a test be positive, and then the line disappear?

I will wait a couple days and test again to make sure.

The test could have been faulty, etc. Tests do strange things sometimes. I'd buy another brand and try again.
