i believe that i heard/read somewhere that the US FDA hasn't done any studies on vaccines. is this accurate? if so, can anyone send me a reliable website i can show to dh (he is very picky). if i'm mistaken, please set me straight. thanks!

The FDA doesn't "do studies". Before licensing vaccines, they look at the studies funded and carried out by the pharmaceutical companies and basically take their word for it that their product that they stand to make billions off of is safe.

Makes alot of sense doesn't it?

where can i find an article about this?

I don't know that there is an article about it...it just is.

If you search here http://clinicaltrials.gov/ you can look for info about any clincial trial. Trails that are used to license vaccines are usually called safety and immunogenicity studies. Here is an example of a flu vax trial

http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00956761?term=licensing&rank=2

notice who sponsored the trial and where all of the information about the results comes from - Novartis the company who makes this vax.

If you go to the home page and type in safet and immunogenicity and any vax you want, you'll get alist of trials....click on it and the info about who sponsors it and where the info provided comes from is right there - it's always the manufacturer.
