When to start rinsing poopy diaps?

My babies are late bloomers with solid foods, and I've been successful washing their Bum Genius, Fuzzy Buns and Kauaii Baby CDs without rinsing up until now.  Though they are starting to eat some solids, they're still not eating a whole lot besides breast milk.  

I wonder when it becomes necessary to start rinsing poopy diapers in the toilet before washing?  Or can I keep doing what I've been doing until they're having more solids?  It would be good to change the process before I gunk up the washer (but I have twins and don't want any extra work if it's not needed!)!  TIA

I was kinda wondering the same thing.

My DD is 9 months and has some solids, but BFing is still her main nutrition.

Her diapers are a bit smellier and thicker now, but still not actually "solid".

I still just toss them in the wash and have had no issues, but was wondering if I should wait for actual whole poops to start rinsing out before washing.

This may not help bc DS was formula fed but I started rinsing when I could tell his poop was more food than milk. Some poops were plopable but but I tossed the soft ones straight into the pail.

I'll never forget the day I realized that I needed to scrape! I took his dipes out of the wash and they still smelled dirty.

I'm a fan of the flushable liners.  No rinsing, just peel em off and flush away.  There may be some poo left on the diaper, but it's generally not so bad it needs to be rinsed really.  If they are not terribly solid, stinky or substantial you're probably fine to not rinse.

You need to start rinsing when you look at the poopie and see chunks of food in it. Or when you pull the dipes out of the washer and then have to clean the inside of the washer of detritus from partially digested food chunks. If they're on purees or only eating soft things like banana and avocado and sweet potato, it's not really necessary. When they start eating things like beans or apple (with the peel) or whole corn, you'll realize it's necessary. The skins are insoluble fiber, and they come out pretty much like they went in.

 I have had these since DD's birth, but have'nt used them yet. I guess I'll start using them now and see how they do.

I never rinse DS's poopy diapers since I do a rinse in the machine before the actual wash cycle, and we dump the poop in the toilet. He's 20mo. We'r currently out of the flushable liners but have been using some fleece liners that I made a long time ago. The diaper itself stays a little cleaner.

This is probably not super-helpful, but my rule of thumb has been, if I look at the diaper and think "ew," I rinse.  If I look at the diaper and think "baby poo!" then no rinsing.  If I think, "wow, that looks like grownup poo..." then I rinse.

On the other hand, I got myself a diaper sprayer a few months ago, and attached it to the toilet next to a diaper pail.  So I'm rinsing everything now with a jet of pressurized water.  Whee!
