I'm not even talking about hot ones, just regular bell peppers do it, too. I can eat them just fine, but if I'm close by when they go into the saute pan, I start coughing really bad while they're cooking. Â

Does this happen to anyone else? Are you able to eat peppers even though you might be sensitive to the "fumes" (from the capsaicin, I'm assuming). Just curious to know if this happens to others.

One more thing I just realized. When I saute peppers, they don't typically bother me. But I cook on a lower temp than my dh does. Every time he puts them in the pan, it's sizzling hot and they cook and blacken really quickly. I wonder if that could be part of it. . .
