We cd with prefolds and covers. At night we bump it up with a hemp doubler and a heavier duty cover and have been good with leaks. My concern is that it is so bulky that her pelvis is rotated up. I assume this is the same with only cd babies. Could this be good for baby? Am I just being paranoid? During the day dd has much less mobility in her cd, so we make sure she has at least 30 minutes of naked time a day to roll over and wiggle around.Â

I don't have a solid answer for you, but I have wondered about this myself. I've read countless posts where people say there is so much bulk around their babies' bum that they can't close their legs, etc, and I can't help but wonder why anyone would think that their child is comfortable? I mean, would you be comfortable if you had to sleep like that? The most I add to my DD's pocket diapers is a hemp doubler. It doesn't add much bulk at all and she can still move around comfortably and get into any position she pleases with no problems. In my opinion, if you think that the diaper is so bulky that it may cause problems, I'd consider figuring out a trimmer solution.

The only thing we are adding right now is hemp doubler to the prefold. The only trimmer Iand still leak-proof) option is to go disposable, but we are trying to avoid that for now.Â

My baby's nightime diaper is pretty thick, and I have to talk her into her morning diaper change because she wants to play first (she is almost 3). Â I use a extra thick cotton PF, and terry cloth doubler, and a piece of fleece on top (which is why I assume she wants to play, she thinks she is dry). Â I think she must be fine, if she were uncomfortable I feel confident she would tell me....
