A toddler poo question

Thread Starter

My 18mth old had something w/corn in it (hes allergic) and he pooped today.

He has not had any bananas or anything stringy. He had black strings in his poop. This happened a couple weeks ago too.

I called the allergist and the nurse said it's most likely due to the corn. Since going corn free, he seems to be more sensitive to it when

hes exposed to it.

Has anyone else had this poop issue?

Could it be mucous?

Black strings (if no banana) are probably dried blood from somewhere in the upper GI tract, which would make sense with an allergic reaction.

We used to see that a lot.  I know exactly what you are talking about.  Just like the little black hair-like things in you see in mashed bananas?

Shameful, off-topic side notes:  OMG!!:  Congrats, Changingseasons...about the baby.  And I'm so sorry, KJ...about the hacking.  Just goes to show you how valuable your recipes are, I guess.  ;)
