i know many set goals for their kids, specific or general.

what about for yourself?

Have you set your goals for YOU -- stay current on gradeing?  Find more suppmental resources for your kids, add a new subject ....

Maybe get back to the basics and read or reread eductional theropy relvant to your style (The well Trained Mind or a woldof book?)

My biggest presonal goal is to add more meat and more shape to our days ... I blog about it here http://scribinglife.wordpress.com/2010/12/30/2011-changes-part-1/   and here http://scribinglife.wordpress.com/2010/12/31/2011-changes-part-2/

Can't wait to hear what the rest of you hope to accomplish ....

My goal is to be better at managing my time so that we actually DO lessons every weekday.  Currently right now I'm lucky to pull it together enough to do lessons 2 days a week, my goal is to do 4 days a week consistently while also keeping up with my college classes.

Mine are to do more with and for our 5 yo, keep us involved with seeing other kids on a regular basis, to cover more science, geography and history with our 7 yo, and to read aloud every single day, no matter what.

Mine are going to school for the first time next year so I'm trying to get them in the "school mindset".   This means starting at the same hour and making sure they are dressed, fed, lunch made, teeth brushed and ready to go by 8:00.  It's  happening but it's taking awhile since we have home schooled in a very relaxed manner from the start.

I wouldn't have done it any other way though.  Our past mornings of getting up when we are fully rested, having the kids crawl in to bed and read with me and deeply getting in to any project has been nothing but wonderful!  I will treasured our home schooled days together and those elementary years will be great memories for all of us.  I wish I could say the same for my own past but it was the typical public school rush, rush, rush, eat on the run sort of existence.

So they are wanting to try out a new high school in town and I feel excited and happy for them but since I am still homeschooling them, it is my job to prepare them for a scheduled way of life.  They haven't fought it thankfully knowing it's their choice to jump in to this world of traditional schooling.
