I just wanted to put this out there- DD1 has benefitted SO much from full day public kindy. She did 2 yrs of preschool in integrated classrooms and started full day kindy in a class with 8 SN kids (they integrate for gym, lunch, recess, music, etc) this year. Her speech suddenly started taking off immediately. She has a rare chromosome disorder and very significant sppech delay. We've always signed, done therapy, playgroup, etc, but the minute she was in the full day kindy I saw her come home and hold "conversations" with her toys and she's learned so much.Â

Anyway. It was tough to think of her ever being away from home until 3:30 but in her case, it's made a difference like nothing else has. I just wonder whether to do another year of kindy or move her up to 1st grade next year....
