Looking for a good midwife

My family and I are hoping to move to the Carbon County area of Pennsylvania, and I am due in May.  We are close to buying a house, so I think it would give us enough time to move in and get adjusted before the new addition comes.

I am saddened by the lack of birth centers in the area, however.  As it is now, we live in Schuylkill County and drove 45 minutes for our last delivery with a midwife in a good hospital.  If we went to a birth center from Carbon County, the drive would be more than twice as long and I only had a seven hour labor the first time.

I would have a homebirth if we could afford it and had a good hospital nearby, but both of those situations are not in our realm of reality right now.

It looks like I will be delivering at Lehigh Valley Hospital, which is known to treat high risk pregnancies.  I am concerned about the philosophies of the medical staff there.  They do have midwives that can provide prenatal care and delivery, but I don't know how pro-natural childbirth they are.

Is anyone here familiar with this area of Pennsylvania?  If so, know any good midwives with hospital privileges?  Also, any and all advice and suggestions is/are welcome.  I have been out-thought before, won't be surprised if it happens again!  LOL.

You might have more luck posting in the Finding your Tribe section.

I used to follow the blog at Knitted in the Womb - she's a doula and childbirth educator in the Lehigh Valley:
