With my first daughter, my period did not resume post partum until she was 14 months old, and she had started eating more solids.

My second daughter is now three months old. When she was 9 weeks, I had a week of spotting (this was after stopping postpartum bleeding at 7 weeks.) Now a month later, it's back again, so it seems like my periods have resumed. I always thought that return of menstruation followed a pattern after each pregnancy. Perhaps not exact, but at least within the general timeframe. (For example, if it took a year to resume the first time, it would take about a year the next time.) Has anyone else experienced such dramatic differences in the timing? There is nothing I can think of that would have impacted this. My diet and exercise has been the same both times, and both girls were/are exclusively breastfed. Honestly, I was looking forward to a good year or so of not worrying about periods or birth control. :)
