My US was measuring big - 10 lbs  5oz...they reco'd a c-sec...I refused.  I was overdue so I consented to induction.  I labored for 21 hrs & didn't get anywhere & ended up w/ ermergency c-sec.   I wouldn't change a thing (except a natural birth lol.)  DS *was* 10 lb 5 oz exactly, so accurate for us.  I would never schedule a c-sec early!  I would at least wait till 40 weeks.  Good luck (sorry nak).

I measured big...sort of really big...the MW warned me not to gain anymore...I gained 96lbs total. DD could have been huge! I think weight scares people a lot. I was 238 when I gave birth. It turned out I had an abundance of water. she was 8lbs 6 oz, but still not too big. They were thinking I would need to have her in the hospital just in case but I fought it and stepped it up a notch on my work out and ate super healthy so I didn't gain too much more to please them...

This happened with my second. I was measuring large the whole pregnancy and in the end I was risked out of my birthing center due to high BP. I was sent to a hospital for induction and they recommended the cesarean when I walked in because baby looked like he was over 11 pounds. I refused and labored completely only to need one due to him being in a horrible position and literally stuck. He ended up being 10lb 6oz. I am glad I decided to labor completely to 10cm and try to push.

If you can talk to an ICAN group or online ICAN group, I bet you'd get some great advice.  Speaking as a mom who has tried so hard to naturally birth my babies just to end in C/S each time, I still can't bring myself to opt for one.  (And I have to fight hard to get any support--can't get any in the state I live in.)  I'm afraid you'll really regret your decision later if you let the doc scare you into one.  The overall dangers with c/s are greater than vaginal birth you know.  How would your DH live with himself if you had something go wrong there?  (Just pointing out the counter argument.  Not trying to judge in any way.)  A c/s will change all of your future births.  If your DH is scared of possible shoulder dystocia, how will he feel about VBAC with the slight chance of uterine rupture?

I also wanted to mention that I have a friend who has given birth to 3 babies at 43+ weeks who were all in the 12 pound+ range.  She had home births with all and is expecting another this summer.  She just says "fat squishes, it's no big deal."
