Feels like I've been kicked ( TMI)

I am 28 weeks pregnant and 2 days ago I started having pain in my female area and my hips. It seriously feels like someone has kicked me hard between my legs. It hurts to open my legs at night to put the pillow between them, it hurts to sit after I've been laying down.

This is my second child but I dont remember having this pain. Is this a normal pain? Will it get worse?

Thanks

Is it bone pain or tissue pain?  I had pubic symphysis pain that luckily went away during my last month of pregnancy.  It felt exactly like you describe, like I'd been kicked hard in the pubic bone.  If that's what it is, it's normal.

How far along are you? I had the same pain with DD2. I don't have any suggestions for relief, but I assume it's pretty normal.

If you were comfortable with it, it sounds like something you could talk to a good, recommended, experienced (lots of emphasis on this!) chiropractor who does work with pregnant women. A good chiropractor is indispensable, a bad one is really bad!

With the relaxin and body changes, sometimes your pubic bones can misaligned causing pain and discomfort. It's really worth looking into!

I would certainly talk to your health care practitioner about it either way!

I am 28 weeks. I will talk to my Midwife/Ob Office about this on Monday, and I'll ask about a  chiropractor.

I'm not sure if it is bone or muscle....it just hurts

ive been dealing with this crap for months now. it SUCKS. my midwife has no words of advice other than seeing a chiropractor or getting a belly support band. the baby is uber low and putting all kinds of ridiculous pressure on my pelvis hence the pain. its the worst! especially when i walk to fast, try to put on pants, or turn in bed.. im 28 weeks too and the only words of wisdom i have are "atleast we only have 3 more months to go" lol

you might want to look up SPD (symphis pubis dysfunciton). My midwife last pregnancy didn't mention a name, but my ob this time did. they suggested physical therapy, chiro, or just sucking it up until the baby is born.

Or if you can find a practitioner who practices Mayan Abdominal Massage, they can really really help. I do, but I don't live near you!

yup and it hurts like nothing else... for me it's pelvic seperation.

Chiropratic is a wonderful help... it may very well get worse. but get what help you can

I have similar symptoms and the midwife said it's SPD - symphysis pubis dysfunction.  The midwife got me a special belt from the orthotics clinic (which helps somewhat), gave me some recommendations, and sent me to a physical therapist.  Mine has gotten progressively a lot worse, so I'd recommend doing something about it as soon as you can!
