Another Bostonian checking in...Â
There seems to be a good-sized Beantown crowd here!
Â
I've lived here in the cold NE for about 5 years now, 8 years in NYC, and the rest of my life all over the place -- though I grew up mostly in Germany and far west Texas. I've always felt a bit more like a westerner at heart, though now that I've found an awesome partner in Boston, it looks like I'll be here for a while.
Â
Not a mother yet, but working on it. Besides my partner, I share my home with a dignified old gray cat and a motley collection of dust bunnies. (I can corral them all day; they still come back!) DP & I garden together and are currently learning to cook Indian food -- an existence so domestic I never would have believed I'd be here a year ago. I have a more than passing interest in natural medicine and traditional chinese medicine as well as exercise and movement as medicine. For fun I travel to disaster zones.
Â
Full disclosure: I work in healthcare at a hospital where I take care of very sick kids. I'm *not* an MD, and while I may have a perspective on some things that reflects my day-to-day-life (just like someone who works at Whole Foods might know more about how people shop for vegetables), nothing that I say here should be construed as medical advice. LOL---mercifully, I don't think anyone at Mothering would take my almighty "medical advice" that seriously, anyhow!

Welcome to Mothering!
