My situation is so odd, I wonder if anyone else has experienced this. I had no intention of UCing, but ended up with a precipitous and beautiful delivery with DH catching. 9 pounds 2 ounces and no stitches! Truly one of the most amazing experiences of my life.
Â
The high experienced after the birth was decreased substantially by my OB reporting to me that there were now rumors that she and I had entered into a written contract stating that she was fine with me doing a UC. If she was your ordinary OB I wouldn't care what people said about her, but she is truly a gem, an OB who was trained by homebirth midwives and who supports HB and sincerely honors labor and goes way out of her way to support women's choice in labor.
Â
I know there's nothing I can do about what people say, I just hate that I unintentionally made the life of this particular OB more difficult. Right now the hospital is reviewing her practice and has become more strict with her (not related to me, this was in the works prior, according to her and other HB MWs I spoke with about her.)
Â
I'm just curious if anyone had prenatal care and an "oops" and if there was any fallout for your practitioner.
Â
Having to explain and "justify" even an accidental UC has been a real eye-opener! Just getting the birth certificate etc, has been a nightmare and it has been much easier for me, only because I happen to work at the hospital and I am known to the nurses and physicians. Still I had a few coworkers tsk-tsk and give me an attitude like I did something wrong and dangerous.
