They call him the streak . . .

Just looking for some commiseration, I guess!  DS 31 months has turned into a little exhibitionist - It started last week at nap time.  I put him in for a nap, he decided to strip naked.  He did it every day for a week.  Yesterday, he also started sneaking into another room and then running back in where we all are with no clothes on.  He thinks this is the greatest thing ever.  And, now that he's realized his big brother, DS12 is grossed out by it, after he divests, he runs over to climb all over DS 12 and smear his junk all over him.

It's 19 degrees out - I have to turn the heat up to 75 because he sometimes won't get dressed again for hours.

Silly me thought this would help with potty training, but while he *will* pee in the potty while naked, he always asks to get dressed again (including a diaper) when he has to poop and then he poops in the diaper within a few minutes.

Either tell me this too shall pass or give me some ideas about how a habitually naked toddler can work for *me*!

That part is hilarious.  Sooo 31 months... (don't feel like doing the math) But, close to three years.  I think it's cute, and kinda funny.  I wouldn't want to turn the heater up for him though.  That would get expensive.

However, my own daughter has NO pictures or video of herself wearing clothes til she was almost four years old.  And, from four til six, even those are few and far between.  So, I know what it's like to have a naked preschooler.   It wasn't a very short stage for us.

But, I bet he's adorable!

Don't turn the heat up. If he doesn't want clothes, he can bundle up in a blanket.

Says the woman nursing a naked 28month old and having little feet tucked into her t-shirt...

Yah, mine runs around naked most of the time at home.  We have lots of blankets around and if she's cold, she'll bundle up. We keep it at 70 during the day and 68 at night. ;)  She's been doing this since she figured out how to get her clothes off, about 18 months.  It makes it easy to potty train. ;)  And yes, asking for a diaper to poop in is perfectly normal. That too shall pass. ;)

I know you said you just wanted commiseration, but I couldn't help sharing our experience. When DS was at that same stage of potty-learning (peeing no problem while naked but got dressed to poop) I kicked out the crutch. To me, that showed that he was in-control enough to get dressed and therefore in control enough to go in the potty, especially since he was knowing he had to go, then holding it while the clothes went on, and then going in his diaper. Which I then had to clean. eyesroll.gif Sooo, suddenly we had only 3 diapers left, which we counted. Then only two, and then one, and then... no more diapers. Which flipped him out, but he got over it in a day or two. I think he went on the floor once, and then potty all the way after that.

PS, my kid is still naked much of the time, and he's almost four. I like to think its good for his skin (he has eczema) but I'm really joking myself.  I think naked kids are just cute!

Sorry to but in with advice, but for us, it seemed like a really time-sensitive opportunity. tiphat.gif
