Water and friction... shaving question

Thread Starter

I've recently gone no 'poo and soap free, but I have a question about shaving. What does everyone use to shave (for those who do,) to avoid cuts and bumps? I'm not a shaver generally, but a few times a year, so it's not something I'll be doing often, but I need foam or lather, or... something. Ideas or advice??

Well, could those be those few times a year you use a product?  Otherwise, maybe a little olive oil or something?

I use a moisturizing body wash, one that is very creamy and thick. I don't have a particular one I use. Right now I have one by St Ives. Also, I make sure to use a good shaver with 3 or 4 blades. When I use the cheap ones, I end up cutting myself a lot, and getting horrible razor burn.
