Help me find a toothpaste for my DS

DS is allergic or sensitive to the following:

all citrus

all berries

banana

grape

(and a bunch of other stuff that's probably not in toothpaste, like rice, oats, cow's milk, etc)

I suspect peppermint is a problem too.

Of course all the children's toothpastes are flavored with one of the above fruits.

We want fluoride-free toothpaste.  It'd be nice if it was SLS-free.  Currently we're using the Tom's of Maine Fennel Propolis and Myrrh toothpaste.  I think that's the only one that's sort of okay now.  It does have SLS in it, though.  He's not consistent about spitting out the toothpaste, either.

Anybody have any other ideas?

What about Spry infant tooth gel? That might work for him.

Is cinnamon on the bad list too?  We use cinnamon and like it.  I haven't tried the anise flavor.

I've read of some people using pascalite powder, don't know the pros or cons, but maybe something to look into, if you think he could get used to the flavor/texture (I've never even put it in my mouth so I don't know how much of an issue that may be).

You know, you'd think toothpaste makers would make something like vanilla flavor or apple - instead it's all strawberry, orange, grape, cherry.  They even have orange-mango.... if they ditched the orange, the mango would be fine. /end vent  (Sorry, I have to vent because EVERY little thing is like this, for all three of us.  I get so tired of this.)

Thanks for the ideas.  The Spry has grapefruit seed extract, and with the citrus issue I'd rather not try it.

The Eco-Dent is interesting, I hadn't found that one before.  The cinnamon has spearmint in it (given the peppermint issues I'd rather not try other mints), but the anise is worth a try.  If DS doesn't like it, then I'm sure DH could use it.  You always have good ideas Tanya.  smile.gif
