I know it seems a little odd to ask but I view my few special days each month as a time of renewal but also a time my body is being depleated. I want to make sure I have the *healthiest* period.

I make sure to walk every day and do yoga (no inverted poses). This prevents me from having cramps. (I do this all the time, though, along with daily meditation and conscious breathing.)

I drink tulsi tea (Ayurveda practice) for general female health once in awhile and will reach for it during my menstrual cycle more than other times. I add organic rose petals to my loose tulsi tea (in a tea ball).

Day One of my cycle is the day I start bleeding. On Day Five, regardless of if I am still bleeding or not, I start drinking organic, not-from-concentrate, dark juice. My Ayurveda practitioner gave me a list of appropriate juices and I usually go with Trader Joe's organic grape juice because it tastes good and the price is right. I forget the exact amount, but I think 6-9 oz a day is the amount. I do this for 3-4 days. Aside from orange juice once in awhile, this is all the juice I drink. I mostly drink water.

The only other "special" things I do are more practical. LOL I normally sleep without panties for vaginal health, but I wear panties and pads at night during my period. And, speaking of panties, I have a few pairs I only wear during my period. They are more fun colors than I typically wear, but this is more to keep my regular panties in better shape long-term. It goes to the "happier period" concept.
