Making a belly band need sizing info

I am newly pregnant and maybe just a tad eager in my craftiness. I am sewing a belly band and have consulted several tutorials but none give much advice on how long to make the tube. I think that I have made mine too roomy. If anyone has a size 2 Bella Band could you measure the width around it is, unstretched?  Thanks!

I normally wear a size 12-14 in pants, if that is helpful.

I don't have a Bella Band but I do have the BeBand from Target (which if I understand correctly, is made by the same company?).  My band is a size M/L and I normally wear size 12/Large pants if that helps.  It's 11" "tall" and 14.5" wide unstretched.  Hope that helps!
